small rare enemies question

My question is if you have to kill the boss of an area first before rare enemies start appearing? I have been doing the telepipe trick thingy for 3 hours now with 4 ob lilys trying to get a mil lily to appeare in ultimate caves. I havent killed the caves boss yet so im just asking if that may be why ... or i could be having real bad luck.

my chara is a skyly, lvl 73, HUmar, offline.

2- It wouldnt hurt to beat up the boss, but I dont think it affects rare enemies. You are probably having an unlucky day. My telepipe-Rare-enemy-finding usually takes about 50 TP's a shot, so 3 hours is definately HORRIBLE luck http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I think its a dark Attack, so equip some Resist/Devils...

Umm...Carry Scape Dolls, boost your evasion...

Wear a Light Relief....

And since it's a tech, EVP has nothing to do with it :|

my EDK used to be 12 and i boosted it up to 40 and let the lily hit me and it killed me in one hit...

Though I'm not certain, I also believe that your level is factored into the Ob Lilies' Megid. I've noticed with my characters, who have the same eq, but have raised several levels, comparatively, are less likely to be insta-killed by Megid blasts.

For example, my RAmar, who is still using the same equipment, from level 85-116, can now be hit by Megid and not die as often as he used to; it still happens, just not as frequently as it first did.

If you want to resist Megid, get a Shield of Delsaber, if you don't have one.

Has a nice EDK boost, rather handy for the Caves.

You could also just pull a ranger, and snipe the Lily's by the door, and leave the room before they shoot Megid at you.

One more thing. If your having trouble piping, and haven't tried the Quests, Waterfall Tears and Addicting Food do wonders for Piping.

EDK=60=1/30 chance of lilly megid death.

Get a couple of resist/devils equiped, then couple those with a delsaber's shield. Ultimate ownage.

Character level doesn't seem to make a difference to megid attacks. I don't think it should, since leveling up doesn't increase resistance.

Gotta go with Dime on this. You have to be practically standing still to be hit by lily megid.

If you're close to them they won't spit. On top of this, if you're an android, you can just trap them when you get that close. Remember, a Sword class weapon can hit them in 2 places. RA's don't ever need to get close enough to be hit, and FO's, well, whenever i see a FO go up against pretty much anything it usually ends up something like RafoieRafoieRafoieRafoieRafoieDead!

If your piping for Mil's, there's no reason to even be in the same room with them.

Can a skyly find a Shield of Delsaber? Cause i have one chara and he aint online =(

The Lillies use a very high level Megid, so you will be lucky to survive any hit from them. You'll just have to try and stay out of their range, or if you can't do that, I suggest getting something with four slots and putting on all resist/devil. That will give you at least a 60 bost to your EDK and then whatever you wear as your shield should boost it a bit more, at least by 18. Thereby, you should hopefully have a 78 resistance to EDK. If you don't survive BETTER, but not completely, I would be suprised.

Too lazy to put the extra r and e in front of that Tard are you?

Even with 9, it's easy to predict when they're gonna launch one. Either freeze em with a freeze trap or Rabarta.

I don't know if it's just me. But when I go through hard ruins with a new character or one that hasn't been through them by himself I always get left arm of Delsaber(I've only went through hard with a new character twice, so...).
