What web browser do you use, and Why?

I use IE Explorer and Mozilla. Mozilla seems to be a bit faster. I Hate netscape, it's such crap with all the login shiznit it tries to make you do, and the new versions seem to hog memory with its stupid shortcut bar. And yes i know you can disable it.

Mozilla on PC and Safari on Mac.

Mozilla rocks on Windows: fast, ad killer, better privacy controls, almost security holes free, standards compliant.

Safari is not that bad, but it's not so reliable at the moment: it crashes every now and then without any apparent reason.

Use IE6 most of the time.

Use Netscape for the tabs, when I want multiple windows open.

Opera. Fast, but a little buggy...

Safari with PithHelmet. Take that, GIF/Flash banner ads!

Safari all the way.

I used to use IE for Mac, but it crashed constantly. The beta version of Safari did crash every now and then, but now that it's out of beta it's been quite stable for me.

Besides, its reset feature makes it the most porn-friendly browser ever!

Same here. No pop-up protection, but I run Spybot (http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=news) every now and then to keep the crap away from my hard drive.

IE6. I'll just use whatever the industry standard is.

Mozilla didn't work for me with default settings. So, in my books it's a piece of shit.

IE6 on the PC. Never browse with the Mac.

Downloading Mozilla right now.

I'm currently using the good old IE6.0 but I might give Mozilla a go since I'm always looking for programs or utilities to spice up my PC. I badly need a new visual style for my desktop and maybe add in a new login and bootup screen as well.

mozilla. but, it's a badly coded piece of... uh... yeah... from time to time (four to six hours use) it finishes eating my memory up, and then starts to give me screens where i have to scroll down to get stuff to display, or it shows the window beneath, and as it goes on, even the browsing bar vanishes. then i'm forced to reboot.

if i can get a stable and minimalistic browser, then i can just run a filter and everything will be fine.

I use Internet Explorer 6 btw - but also have Earthlink if I feel like clicking THAT icon instead of THAT icon...ultimately, though, I really don't care. IE 6. And that's my final answer.

You do know that Netscape IS Mozilla right? just that AOL add stuff to it and then release it as Netscape.

Still sticking with my old trusty IE6.0 then! Nothing can go wrong with this...

mozilla may esentially BE netscape, but, it is also essentially IE as well. both of them use mozilla as their base. they use the core of mozilla and just stick their own interface style over the top.

funnily enough, mozilla has a netscape skin.

see above. IE 6.0 uses the Mozilla 4 engine, while mozilla is up to engine 5, even though you can download version 1.4 or whatever.

for more information, go here (http://www.mozilla.org) or something.

I never recalled Mozilla bombing out on me. I am using OS X. Hadn't gotten many problems, but it would crash in the weirdest circumstances.

Using IE is not following industry standards.
In typical M$ fashion, IE uses its wide deployment to impose its own standards over the official, industrial ones.

Then you find that other products don't work perfectly on certain sites and blame them. Nope. It's the sites that are not industry compliant.
