I don't have links but my fave is the battle music from Phatasy Star II. In a very close second is the boss musis from Final Fanstasy II/IV.

You need to hear the song "Behind The Circuit". It's played in the satalite and technology type places, like the plate center and weapons center. Some of the best game music ever!

hm... ff6 battle music (actually all ff6 music - oh i so love the old midi-soundtracks - they're really art) ^-^

then... ff7 battle music, yay ('fighting' as well as 'still more fighting')

then... chrono cross is nice as well but the classic chrono trigger ones are slightly better imho.
(not a battle theme but nothing beats schallas theme or the undersea-facility)

It has the Ultimcia's theme in there. But its a remix also (piano version) If you do download it the song is called tep.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Laughter" (Zio's battle theme) from Phantasy Star: EotM yet...

But for a close second, I'd have to go with either:
a) Cry, for "IDOLA" the holy
b) Growl, from the digital haze
c) "IDOLA" have the immortal feather

well, I haven't played FFXI, but I've heard the battle music for it~ and it rocks the panties off Aeris' lover poo! (j/k FF7 battle and boss come in 2nd and 3rd).
FFIX was a good battle song.
FFX's battle song was addictive...but very repetitive.

One that was wayy out there was 'Other world' that played in one of the last fights of FFX...
but the part where you uh, spoiler approaching! don't read if you ain't beaten Final fantasy X fight the aeons inside sin has the awesomest battle music! its all like 'whoa!' and your like 'WHOA!' and then Yuna's all 'waah!'

And I have loads more other RPG tracks which I love so much! Hope that someone creates another thread about favourite RPG soundtracks so that I can list them all! Thank god that RPGs ever existed because they are my favourite genre! And thank god for SPC and PSF files which allow me to listen to them perfectly! They are so much better than midis.

Final Fantasy 7 Boss Music (I think thats its name as well!)
Final Fantasy X - Otherworld (That Mettalica sounding rock song. The lyrics are in english aswell! Unlike a Final Fantasy game to have lyrics let alone IN english).
