XBox: Is there a way to tell if items are duped?

Well, I recently read that duped items don't cast shadows. Well, I play on Xbox and tested this out. I took a duped item that I got from a friend (psycho wand) and and item that I knew wasn't duped (branch of paku paku [yes i found one]) Both casted shadows. So how can you tell if an item is duped or not on the xbox?

Perfectly obvious answer: you just see the same thing all over the place.

Some weapons like have the same %.
Like, i have only seen two Guld Millas and those have 0/0/30/0 and 0/0/25/0/30.
But if you trade a Double Cannon for 10materials or something, you know that it's a dupe.
NO ONE would trade a legit 12* except Parasite wear:Vajulla...
