View Full Version : Stupidity

Okay, I have a confession to make. I think I did what might possibly be the most stupid thing in the game. If anyone can top this, let's hear it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

I'm fighting along offline in Hard Ruins 2. Oh no, a trap! I'm paralysed. 'No problem', I think, 'just whip out an Antiparalysis.' Er.. wait? Where'd they go? For some reason I put them all in storage, and forgot http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif So here I am, wandering around the ruins, unable to do a damn thing. Of course, I haven't carried telepipes since learing Ryuker. Panic sets in. I try swinging at boxes with my little paralyzed fists, but no luck. Gah! Long story short, after running around like a decapitated chicken, I find a neglected telepipe a few rooms back, and all is not lost. After this little running around ordeal, I have to wonder, never found it out for sure for myself, does paralyze /ever/ just wear off?

Related note. I find myself going all crazy and dying a lot when I play with A) myself (offline, crazypeople) and B) just androids. I'm sooo used to having a force around! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif I've lot my healing reflex that I had when I played offline a lot, not to mention the suprise I feel when my hits don't do Shifta'd damage.

Alas... for you organics, paralyze doesn't wear off. Sad, ain't it?

That's why it's a good idea to carry at least *one* sol atomizer when playing offline.

As for your probelms alone... I can't help ya there. I find myself in the Tech bay more times than I'd like to admit.

But when playing with androids... Well, you have to understand in that case *YOU'RE* the force. You can still throw down with 'em, but it's a good idea to keep those support spells hotkeyed too. Just part of learning to work cooperatively no matter what group you're in. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Always play with a Force huh...hmmmm...maybe I'll have to look you up next time I'm on http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif I'll just run in, throw a spell or two so I can get some exp...and make sure you're shifta'd/deband'd/resta'd all the time http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Just carry some Moon Atoms just in case I go crazy and try to whack a shark thingie and it "beach" slaps me to the floor cause I haven't paid it lately...ummm...errr...disregard that last statement...

Heh, thanks Sciler. And isn't it a nice back to get? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

It's funny though, this habit is complete opposite of a few days ago. After playing offline a lot, I'd be playing with others and my Resta reflex would kick in, right after the force in the group casts it. So I tried to cut down. I should just pay attention to what's going on.. yeah.. that's the ticket.

One time I sat around for like 20 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't use a Hit Material and trying to figure out how to find out when hit points cap.

also did this once in my friends game. asked him and he had a good time laughing at me ;)

Don?t feel too bad, cause you?re not the only one who?s done something stupid on PSO. I have forgotten to buy telepipes a few time and had to hike my way back to Pioneer 2, but the most stupid thing I ever did was sold a level 72 mag I was raising by accident.

What you need to avoid status effects such as paralysis is a SACRED GUARD. I was fortunate to have found one, but being a Hucast, I didn?t need it and gave it away to a Fomarl friend of mine. Now, I have I Fomarl and could sure use one myself.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Yes, I'm working on becoming an honorary android. I've got Trap/Search already, just need the rest of the kit. Hmm, maybe one of these days I'll switch to playing my RAcaseal more, and not worry about the whole Resta thing. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I ALWAYS play with a Hucast...so i am so used to healing that it has become a reflex for me. Always room in my Team for a force, if you dont mind all the double healing going on....

Really crawurm? Could you explain to me how my HUnewearl is paralyzed almost 8 HOURS after I got here paralyzed in the first place to make sure I was right?

In one of my first games, I yelled and screamed at people because I thought they were wasting the healing ring...

A quick and easy (not necessarily painless, though) way to get rid of paralysis is to have another status problem, like poison, confusion, etc. My worst problem with paralysis is with nar lillies... but if I wait long enough, they'll poison me and I can cast Anti then Ryuker.

ahhhh...

forces must do this, forces must do that...

its okay though.. i have come to understand the part that forces must play...

but still... i'm not one of those that cast shifta and deband every 2 seconds or so.. since

a)theyre not set on my keys
b)if they are..confusion would be abound in my head. and i'd have no other spells to play with..
c)it takes time to press start, select techniques, select support, select shifta, select support, select deband... no to mention i have to be a bit nimble, since there could be enemies following me round while im in select mode.

besides having shifta and deband less regulary can make you work more, and thus getting your fitness levels up (lol).. remeber the lost bride...

What you may want to try is to call for a ?group hug? before your team heads into a new room, especially if your shifta and deband range isn?t too great. Works pretty well imho.

Just watch out for the ones who may try to cop a feel.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I hope I didn't offend.. seems I sounded like I expected forces to do stuff like Resta, etc. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif Really it's just that many of the forces I play with do that and kick it at the same time.. and lots of others too, force or not.
