Random rares in boxes?!?

Just completed my FOnewearl's first VH Forest run. In forest 2, she managed to find the following rares by breaking boxes:

DB's Saber
Varista
Addslot

I can understand an Addslot dropping in addition to whatever other rare boxes are supposed to yield, but I certainly hadn't expected a rare saber and a rare gun to drop from boxes on the same level. Is it completely random?

(Note: I checked the Redria VH forest drops, an neither is listed, so it is not just some monster dropping it in the spot of a box.)

I think that every ID finds 2 different rares in boxes, in every area.

I crack boxes all the time and find rares, mostle Brave hammers though...

The section ID Item Findings here aren't complete yet, as there are still things to be found in boxes.

interesting...all i've found in boxes are

Photon drops
addslots
Custom Ray ver.00
Club of Laconium
Kaladbolg

but all in different places at different times...

There are set rares that can show up when you open a box for each level, section ID, and difficulty.

I stopped breaking boxes to try and limit the Gae Bolgs that I find. I hate those!!

I have too many Durandals! and MAHUS! I hate Box Rares they are Crap unless they are Barriers, Amplifiers, AddSlots or Photon Drops
