What are beats? I have never played PSO ep 1 and 2 online, and I have never known what beats are. Can someone please tell me what they are and what they do?

Beats are the universal time PSO goes by, Online, It's the same beat, everywhere. It's just used to keep time, You can easily set a beat time to say, meet someone Online.

Offline, it goes by what your Xbox/Cube says.

Internet Time, Beat Time. So I can change the time on my Gamecube trough the GameCube Main Menu (when not inserting any gamediscs) and set the beat time to a number that I want?

You CAN'T change the beat time to any time, since it runs off of the servers,so that's settled.

You can change it offline on GC. I do it all the time, because Hildetorrs like to come out at around 666 beats for me (12 a.m. I ain't staying up for that).

Correct. And while there is debate about this, there is some evidence to support them appearing more frequently around beat 666. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cheepcheep.gif

Online you can't change beat or telepipe because the servers save data... offline Gamecube time and Beat time offline arent confirmed to be connected...
