View Full Version : There has GOT to be an easier way to beat Vol Opt than the m

I have 2 Forces. Each of them rocks ultimately against any given Episode 1 boss, EXCEPT Vol Opt. Usually, I blow out all the screens with 3-4 castings of Gizonde, and then I'm forced to destroy every little electric totem he has. However, my brothers rarely have to kill more than 2 totems, and only have to break half the screens to kill him (they play Hunters). Also, with my GC Force, Vol Opt continually shorts him. I didn't think Newman and Human players could be afflicted with the Short status. Anyways, I guess the question is this: Is there any way I can defeat first form Vol Opt without having to put up with every last stinking totem thing? Those are the only attacks Vol Opt has that consistently give me trouble.

Rafoie the pillar, zonde/foie red totem. I'd only recommend the screens if you are a HU or RA.

There's nothing on the guide that I'm not already doing. Foie/Zonde on the red one, Gizonde on the screens...Guess it'll be easier if they can gain a few levels more, and get enough Meseta to afford 10 Difluids. But what about in the GC Episode 1&2 game where non-Android characters can be Shorted?

It's called Shock, The easiest way to rid yourself of that without wait is the use of Sol Atomizer, I just flip up the Quick Screen and use one, then continue the assault.

Will Anti cure it? Sol Atomizers are kinda on the rare side for me.

Some people have a theory that if you ignore the screens then the totem does less damage or attacks only once.

In any case just use a mate every time you're shocked instead of a sol. You'll be at full health and if you are a newman you can even get 2-5 tp back while waiting.

Or get a cure/shock unit
