xbox live mic problem

Hey guys.. Can anyone of you help me on this.. This is the second time within 6 months or so.. That my stupid mic started making humming noises that everyone says it's making.. How do I fix that?? I know last time I simply didn't log on for a while and switched controllers. But now it just seems it doesn't work this time. What should I do?? Replace the mic?? What?? I am totally confused here.. And what I hate the most is when people are very rude about it.. It's my fault the stupid thing isn't working or something.. Anyways thanks for any help.. ^-^

I just called xboxlive support about mine(I have had for about 5 mo) and they are shipping me a new one at no cost. 1-800-4my-xbox

Although I have replaced it with a cordless phone headset. I'm gonna call xbox anyways and get it replaced.
