Quick question about the stat maxing trick and morality issues and whatnot.

Say you get a character to level 200 after all 500+ hours of playing. You then realize that you have severely gimped your character as far as mats go. Would it then be ok to do stat maxing to make yourself feel cool again, or is that bad?

In my opinion, if someone can work hard enough to reach level 200, they deserve uber weapons, awesome stats, and respect for their dedication (or addiction). What do you think?

I say its alright, i mean your already 200, it aint gonna hurt anyone if you max your stats...Plus your fucking 200 you can do what ever the hell you wanna do.

if your dedicated to get to lvl 200 without cheating you should be dedicated enough to find mats yourself to max your stats, not to cheat

I'd say it's pretty stupid to max your stats for any reason, especially at a low level. At 200 it's not really going to hurt anyone, but why bother? You're not going to keep playing that 200 character, are you? Besides, getting to 200 doesn't automatically mean that you deserve all the best things PSO has to offer. There are plenty of 200s who don't have maxed out stats.

i'd assume they didn't cheat if they hadn't maxed out their stats by then.

Well, the people who are 200 in 500 hours probably used some kind of trick anyway, so they might as well max their stats too.

But I'm 200 and I don't have max defense. It sometimes bothers me, but not enough to resign myself to cheating to get it. If I want to max my stats just for looks, I could always put God/Body on over my Battle unit to get the desired effect. Using this trick lowers my respect for the player, no matter *what* level they are. Especially when it's a Newman character, where it's physically impossible to max their stats without cheating and they're truly creating something that wasn't meant to exist.

I would simply start my character over.

And to be off-topic,just to let you know...the most challenge you can get is to be completely legitimate to level 200,with max stats, and after reaching level 200,get to 99999999 experience.

Psst, the counter stops at 83 million when you get to 200. So if you ever do get 999,999,999 experience no one's ever going to notice. Not even you yourself if you aren't keeping count on a piece of paper or something.

well, now that it has already been royaly screwed over.... I don't have much to say ...
everything's avalable in today's generation of games

let's say I just made a new char ...

if I wanted lvl 200, I would be able to try the recobox thing

If I wanted any items, I would be able to go to vega

If I needed mats to max out, I be able to dupe them

It depends, I dont really like cheating, and I'll go out of my way to avoid it. Yet there are different people out there with a different sense of morality so there is really no right or wrong answer here.

There's no morality involved either way. It's a video game.

Your sense of morality takes part in common descision making, just because something is a game does not mean that the Morality you uphold is oblivious.

You're oblivious if you think any decision you make concerning a game you play has anything whatsoever to do with real morals.

You're too young and naive for this. Your kind of thinking leads to people believing there's something wrong with killing someone else in a video game.

I'm sorry you think that way *leaves*
