Unusual Findings

OK, so I was doing the Retired Hunter quest on
Ultimate Bluefull. Near the end I found a Diska 80%
Dark. No big deal, I know, but I thought I heard somewhere
that the only way to get over 60% (besides identifying)
was to find a rare when you level up, and then there
is a chance.
And this definitely wasn't the case here.

I also found a Celestial Shield from a Dark Gunner
(with the green crystal, not the death gunner), and
was wondering if this is just an overall find, or was
specific to certain section IDs.

I doubt it is related, but Donoph went down to the
Ruins before you did, which would make his Redria
section ID perhaps cause this to show up. I realize
Celestial Armor is the Redria specific one, and not
the Shield, but I figured it for an odd find for
a Bluefull.

When I found the Diska, I was level 142, within 30k exp
tnl of level 143. Shortly after 143, I found the Celestial
Shield from the aforementioned Dark Gunner.

Maybe it's all a coincidence, but any information
regarding this would be helpful.

Although probably irrelevant, the beats for the finds
were between 250-260.

No, you made the game initially. Your section ID has control over the rares set as soon as the quest begins.

Yeah that's what I figured. I just didn't
expect a Celestial Shield from Bluefull.
I was wondering if that was an overall find.

The idea of DB's Redria taking control was
merely a speculation.

Nothing drops the Celestial Shield as a rare drop for any ID. So, it seems that that's just a drop that anyone can find. To set the record straight, Dark Gunners drop Red Slicers for Bluefull and Smoking Plates for Redria.
