In the first month you don't need a creditcard.
The first 30 day's are free.

depends where in the world you are.
Battle.net doesnt seem to exist in any country.

If you have the EU version of PSO then you dont need a credit card for the first month, then after that you have to enter your credit/debit card details at the end of each monthly subscription period to play pso continously.

If you have the North American version of pso, then you need to enter your credit card details before you start (debit cards are not acepted) and the HL is automaticly charged to your Credit card each month until you call up and get it cancelled.

I just wanted to add to Rich's thing, that in the US version your debit card will work, IF it has say a Visa or Mastercard logo on it as well... 'cause it doubles as a credit card then that automatically deducts your purchases from your account...
