Is anybody else having issues with the invites on xbox? Did they take away the search function for these when they did the updates? Drives me crazy when I can't find somebody I know is on PSO when they invite:(

they were probably playing a different game at the time since i have this happen everyday.

nope--they were in PSO. Had the symbol, talked to them later in another game and they were having the same problem.

Ask them where they live. If it's not the same region (like US, EU, or JP) then you're screwed.
