GC: Sega Online Memory Card & HL Help

I have more than one memory card of characters. I was wondering if i needed to make the Sega Network Info on all Memory cards to go online with all and buy a HL for each?

Ok, so only one HL.
How do I use the Network adaptor configuration? Put that card in slot 2 or redo the setup so it is on every memory card?
