Boss in Caves with a RAmar, Lv 15

Hi all!

I was wondering what I should do/use best to beat the boss at my Level with a RAmar? Does anyone have an idea (except running and praying)? My Mag's a Kalki at the moment; and my RAmar only can use a very few techniques at very low levels ... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif Do I have a chance at all??

If you have Rafoie then you shouldn't have a problem at all. If not I would get myself to level 20 or so, play hard for a bit with a sect. ID that will get you shotgun weapons, get one with some A.Beast %'s, and go back and take De Rol's ass for a ride.

Well, if you really want to maximize your chances of beating De Roi Le, you should not only raise your mags level, but your character level as well. I've been playing from day one and I still won't take the cave boss on with a Ramar until level 18 or 19, at least. The Ramars biggest disadvantage against De Roi le is lack of hitpoints, much like a Force. That's why taking him on at 19th level or so is more beneficial.

As far as weapons, a shot would be ok, but not great. Shots require a high ATP and/or a decent level of Shifta (like 7+) to do halfway decent damage. I found the best weapon against the worm, on normal, is a saber-type weapon. I raised mostly Pow on my mag so I could not only do much better damage overall, but so I could use a saber or something similar when needed. If you can, find yourself a Brand, which shouldn't be hard in the Caves, and go at the worm with that. If you don't want to or can't, just use a good pistol or rifle and be prepared to heal a lot. A gun won't do as much as a Brand will, but you can make up for that by hitting the worm when he's swimming behind and around the raft.

You have Kalki? It's easy. Start off with the rifle and some techniques. Be sure to build up your photon blast first. Then, when his face gets up on the raft, aim at him, then use the photon blast. For me at Lv.14, it owned him/her/it.

Being the same as you, RAcast, I took that boss on with much the same stats as you not knowing what I was getting myself into... Just remember to use a pipe before you enter the boss teleport and when you die use the pipe to shortcut back to it.

Like the dragon, it stores the damage you do to it after you die and go back in..
(e.g. you do 200 damage to it and die, next time you fight it, it will be less 200hp)....

SO JUST KEEP SMASHING IT'S SLIMEY ARSE!

Level 15 RAmar? A shotgun works great at higher levels, but until you beef up your mag with power and/or level up more, it's not going to do enough damage. A mechgun has the same problem. Rafoie is even more dubious; at level 15 you'll be lucky to even be able to learn it, and even then your poor TP max won't be able to keep it up for long.

At this level, your best option is probably a handgun or rifle or even a sabre--whatever you can find with the best bonus against A. Beast. If you beef up your ATP and/or ATA, a shotgun or mechgun can do better, though.

As a general tip on tactics--play defensively. Don't bother attacking him except when he flops on the raft. When he does, hit him for 1 or 2 triple combos (depending on the speed of your weapon) and then shift your position so he misses with the tentacle. You can actually start your next combo before the tentacle attack, since there's a time delay between when he targets you and when the tentacle actually hits (your old position).

I remeber that battle as if it was yesterday (although it wasn't) it was hard especially sence i was in the situation as you. I guess the best advice i can give you is TAKE YOUR TIME, it can take a while to kill him if your power is really low. Also rember dodgeing is a blessing, DODGE to the left DODGE to the righthttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif I think useing a saber would be easyer because you take out more damage, just watch out because DE ROL will try to make you a new ventalation shaft through your head.
