GC-Item: Trading bad?

This post may have been here before, but I didn't see it so here goes.

Many of my friends have pointed the finger at trading. Saying it is the number 1 source and the reason for FSOD/X. I, being up for a good discussion/arguement said it wasn't. Now I have confused myself.

Why would trading be the number 1 source for FSOD? I mean, how?

As far as i know FSOD/X is a player caused problem that only happens in lobbies or a game error that happens if you goof up while duping.The second one to my knowledge doesn't have a chance of fsod-x only fsod
