yes, most people know they do... and they know that they only exist in challenge mode

i have around 100 of them off of challenge mode(xbox)

yes i do dupe, but only did so to try out a bunch of weapons that it would take months for me to find anyway, and i dont have that much time. i dont spread dupes, and now my brother is doing a legit charater. only using action replay to save backups incase of freezing ect.

As far as I know, TP mats don't exist outside of Challenge, and you can't dupe in Challenge. They were availible in Versions 1 and 2, but not Episodes 1 and 2. Are you sure your not mistaking a HP mats for it, or maybe a Mind/MST Mat?

You can use Pro Action Reply to back up your PSO stuff?

If so..I'm headed to Walmart tonight. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

On DC ver.2/PC, at least, the didn't exist in the normal game. The frequency of them showing up is set to 0.

You can only get TP Mats in challenge mode in eps 1 & 2

It's possible to get them out of Challenge Mode, but not only is it unlikely, you pay a terrible price for doing it. Remember the rare glitch where your levels and items reset in the normal game to what you had at the end of C9? Well, in the incredibly unlikely event that this is happening and you're carrying a TP Material, huzzah, you get two more TP. Whee.

It's sad that no one has figured out exactly what triggers this glitch. Some good things could be taken from Challenge this way.

Or you could level a new character up to 80 in 17 hours.

If the resetting hit a duper and there was a TP Mat in his/her inventory, it would spam like wildfire. Same as with a Hit Mat (if they exists, I lay claim to neither as I dont know any better). I wonder if the TP Mat has a limit applied to it.

You could not find TP mats on ver.1 or ver.2 in the normal game, but you could earn them on ver.2. There were two different quests that offered the chance to earn a TP mat. The first was Lost Ice Spinner (I don't know if it worked in ver.1, but I assume it could). If you did a whole bunch of stuff right there was a bonus room on each floor or the Cave and one of them had a box that could randomly generate a TP mat. All of that was removed from E1&2, though. And the other quest was Rappy's Holiday. There was a button game that gave random materials as prizes. It would give every possible mat, including TP mats.

It did work in v1, and the TP mat wasn't random in either v1 or v2, it was always in the same box.

There were several boxes in the locked room of Caves 3 - containing various mats, 3 monogrinders, 2 digrinders, a trigrinder, a scape doll and a lvl 5 Mag.

So then are TP Mats not affected by the 150/250 mat usage number but rather have their own usage ammount like HP Mats?

Yup, one of the first things I did on reaching ULT - doesn't work.

Why would you try it on ULT? The guide says that it needs to be done on VH, and with at least 2 players (if you went alone). Also, what I'm wondering is, even if the process can't produce a legit TP Mat, does it still work for all of the other items which could originally be found in that room?

if tp mat would exist they would be the same as hp mats. when you max-stat you can only max it up with 250tp

dont ask for the max-stat trick

Yes, but tp mats would be affected by a different materials limit than mind materials are.

Hehe.

Tha guide you're reading is for v1 my friend, there was no ULT in v1, that's why it says VH. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

In v1, VH was the correct way to open the room, because that was the highest level of difficulty.

In v2, the room had to be opened on ULT to get the materials, grinders, doll and mag - again the highest level of difficulty. I maxed my HUn TP in v2 this way (125 TP mats http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif).

Also, what I'm wondering is, even if the process can't produce a legit TP Mat, does it still work for all of the other items which could originally be found in that room?

In v3, the Quest works differently with regard to the restricted access doors. They no longer give you the "The door won't open" message, there is no switch on the floor in Caves 2 to get the variable column of light, and the Caves 3 locked room is not locked. I tried for the room on VH and ULT, same story.

So to answer your Q, the secret is removed from v3 completely.

I was aware that it was for v1, and was also aware that VH was the hardest difficulty in v1, yet no one prior to my posting said anything indicating that the process presented in that guide had to be modified in any way for any other version. The natural assumption then, with no evidence to the contrary, would be that if it could be done, it should be done exactly as was presented in the guide!

Even if they did exist outside of challenge, how would you have it as 150? The limit would be either 125 (HP mat max, so TP should be the same), or 150/250 for Newmans/Androids and Humans (max mat limits),and who would want to max their mats on TP, when they can use it for better things? Unless the game doesn't have a TP mat counter because they aren't supposed to be able to be found outside challenge. Unless what you did was on the DC.

TP materials are duped like hell on the Xbox.

And I'm pretty positive that Hit Materials don't exist at all on the Xbox or Cube.
