Howdy all http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I was playing PSO tonight on my xbox and the screen froze (I was online at the time) I couldnt get out of it at all and had to just hit reset.

When I booted up again, my character was still there but the weapons and items he had on him had all gone, even the equipped one. It basically left my armour and mag but took everything else.!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Is that it then - all gone and I have to get my weps back another way or does MS back the data up on their servers? Im new to this so I dont know.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I dont want to go back online now as I am afraid ill lose it all again.
And I was having a good time too although a bit miffed id just lost two hours of gameplay and levelling up!

Can you back character data up to a memory card? and if so how do you do that? id not like to have to go through this again.

regards.

It must be a Variation of FSOD (Frozen Screen Of Death)or BSOD (Black Screen Of Death). I don't know how or why it took every except your mag and defensive units (normally you keep everything equiped I heard), but you got them back, so its not that bad. As far as I know you can't back up items or charactersonto a memory card from the harddrive (but then, how would I know, I'm GC offline only).

That stinks... It happened to me once but all I lost was my Rati and all of my stuff like Trifluids and Mates

My game crashes 75% of the time, mainly because I have a Thomson DVD-Rom in my Xbox. Slightly scratched disk doesnt help either.

Oh well! easy come easy go. I phoned sega and they said it was rare thing to happen in the xbox version (but common on the DC) but not to let it put me off playing online again. Ill go online again tonight.

Do you think that ST should have like a gift pack, you know some rares to give to people who have suffered FSOD? Seems fair to me.

Same thing happened to me. My green power light started flashing, the music was skipping, and when i went to quit/save, the screen just went black. When i powered back on. It said sumthing about Omitting to save normally, items will be reset. Luckily, they werent, but i lost my Dragon Slayer with 55% hit!!

Lately I've heard of a lot of people losing equipped stuff as well. When I got my FSOD I lost my Sato and all of my unequipped items. I managed to replace all of my items and thanks to a great friend my Sato mag. He makes them and gave me one of his. Contrary to popular belief there are some great people playing this game. It is a shame that most of the posts/print deal with the hackers, dupers and the like and not with the good people playing PSO! ACE

Jeez...it's a FSOD...no biggie. They happen to me so frequently, its getting annoying because I aint losing anything. Even a f****** FSOD whilst saving...AND EVERYTHING IS FINE!! But then it randomly corrupts me whilst I'm not able to go online....I am so screwed...

The game is going to crash, no matter what version you are using. Just make a habit of depositing unequipped items.

eh, recently, I've been playing (btw, I'm offline, GCN) and my char just stops moving and I can hear the disk skipping like crap, and I can't do anything, can't press anything, then a few seconds later, it un-freazes, finally, it started doing that so much I thought the disk would just stop spinning, so I saved and turned it off. Gah, it's annoying when it does that in the middle of a hard battle...especially when the enemies can move, and I can't >.<

that's terrible. If you're going to try and get it back good luck!

HUShadow, mine does that too. Usually when I load into the lobbies. Game freezes and unfreezes 5 seconds later. Usually the disk will start thrashing and I have to reboot.

Yeah, except...I'm offline! Anyway, just played again for about 45 min., and it only skipped once. I think I may just need to let it cool down from playing so much http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
