**Flashback... 15 years ago...**
At the age of 5 Keitaro Urashima made a promise with a girl that when they grow up both will get into Toudai (Tokyo University) and live happily ever after...

Episode 1: All girl's dormitory with outdoor hot spring "Hot Spring!"

After weaking up from a dream about his childhood promise, Keitaro begins to get ready to see his results of his last entrance exam when he gets a phone call from his grandmother, Hina, the owner of the Hinata-Inn. During that time Hina tells the current residents that she will be leaving on a Hot Spring World Tour. This doesn't go well with one memeber of the Inn, Naru Narusegawa, who quickly tries to get the other residents to help get things in order for fear that the news would mean the closing of the Inn, but fails as Kitsune is too drunk and worn out, Kaolla prances off, and Motoko leaves to train with her kendo-dojo group in the mountains.

Keitaro arrives at the exam center only to be hit with bad news that he might fail a 3rd time, as well as a girl with coke-bottle glasses fist. Keitaro then leaves to Kyoto area to visit his grandmother, only to cause embaressment infront of a young girl that sends him running to the Inn.

Upon arrival it appears that his Grandmother has stepped out, as well as the residents of the Inn. As he searches around he finds the entrance to the hot spring and helps himself to a quick dip. After splashing around a moment he hears someone enter the hot spring, only to come face to face with Naru who mistakes him for another resident, Kitsune. After a scream or two (most from Keitaro) he is punched through the door way, smack dab into Kitsune's basket of clothing as Naru enters and labels Ketiaro as a pervert). Keitaro then runs about, in an attempt to lose Naru and Kitsune only to run into a stange Indian Girl who quickly turns her toy tanks into deadly weapons against him.

Barely escaping with only the towel around his waist he is informed that the Inn is now a all girl's dorm as he bumps into his Aunt Haruka, who runs the Hinata Tea Shop just a bit from the Inn and things quickly turn bad when his aunt mistakenly tells the residents that he is a Toudai student and the new manager of the Inn. The girls, except Naru, quickly accept him as their new manager. Kitsune then takes it upon herself to cause a bit of trouble for Keitaro, making a small pac that if she allows him to grope her once a month he'll help her with her studies just as Naru and Kaolla enter the room to catch him in the dirty act.

Keitaro quickly decides that he will do his job as a manager and tell the girls that he isn't a student in a converstation with his Aunt, that Naru overhears. As Keitaro cleans the grounds around the hot spring the girl from the entrance exam results (the one that punches him) appears at the door way with the results of the exam in hand, Keitaro is confused as to why this girl is here and is then told that she is infact Naru, top in the nation on the last entrance exam and a shoe in at her pick of college. Keitaro then tells Naru that he has no plans on staying at the dorm since he lied and doesn't feel comfortable being in a place he doesn't belong. Naru then, in a act of desperation, rushes over, trying to get him to change his mind (because without a manager the dorm would be forced to close) only to fall over on him, telling him that if he was to make it into the school this year then it wouldn't be a lie and he could continue to be Manager. Kitsune and Kaolla then enter the area, seeing Naru hanging over him thinking she's trying to get "ahead".

Closing scene shows a small hot-tub for Keitaro's use and Naru punching him out into space as he peeks over the edge of his tub to see the hot spring (where Naru and company currently are).

Ranking: 8/10

My Thoughts: First episodes are always the ones that make you want more. The good nature of Keitaro can already be seen as his down fall as every moment becomes a bad accident. Motoko's exiting of the Inn is an important event for a future episode.

So, tell me what you think http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I'll be doing other episodes randomly when I got time http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

EDIT: Added in the parts about Motoko and fixed some spelling.

Episode one was hilarious with the bowing of the breasts and Keitaro getting, what looks like, stuck to Naru from the behind running around screaming. I thought it was an awesome introductory episode with the comedy and the important stroy line and flashback seens as needed (Naru and him running through Hinata Sou to the inn). Also of the girl leaving town in the truck... But yea, great episode overall. If you haven't started watching Love Hina yet, you should start ASAP dammit! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

***SPOILER***

Episode 2: Hinata Inn's new resident, Shinobu. "Arrow Signs!"

The episode starts in the home of Shinobu Maehara, who's begun to pack her things up to move out of town. Shinobu is apparently upset over moving and leaves her home for a walk, thus meeting Keitaro who is sitting across from her, drawing a picture of her in his book. With the arrival of the town elders and their game of "keep-away" with his book, Shinobu quickly finds herself in the possession of his book as he runs off embaressed. She looks to the elders and says that she should return the book. They tell her that the young man is on his way to the Hinata Inn. Shinobu quickly turns her head, as if she knows of the Inn, dropping her head to see an arrow pointing her away from the direction the Elders are pointing her in.

Shinobu then is seen at school the next day, seems she's yet to tell her classmates that she's moving, but it seems her classmates generally make fun or tease Shinobu for being so quiet and alone. Her only friend, Akiko Taichi, doesn't even know she's moving. Her teacher begins to explain that she should really try her best at her next school to get along, only to get interupted by Kaolla Su, who is racing around the school on a huge mecha horse.

Later in the day Shinobu begins to make her way around town to the Hinata Inn (this is where watching is important, there are sevreal arrows pointing in the opposite direction that she is walking) carrying a small paper bag. Upon arrival Kaolla Su (who is clinging to Kitsune, since her playmate, Motoko, is still in training) hops from the 3rd floor down to the 2nd and then down to the ground level to greet Shinobu, in a very odd manner, only to get caught by Naru who thinks Kaolla is harassing the poor frightened girl. Naru recongizes her as the daughter of the couple who own a western resturant in town. But before Shinobu can get a word out Keitaro arrives and Shinobu finds out that he is a current student of Toudai and runs off once again.

Dinner time in the Hinata Inn as Kaolla's turn to make her special Curry-on-Curry foods, which don't agree well with anyone but Kaolla. So the residents decide to goto the western resturant that girl belongs to, which will also provide a chance for Keitaro to apologize for his actions. But when they get there they find out that the resturant is closing down, but why? They decide the only place to eat now is at Haruka's cafe. Haruka has all the answers and tells them that her, Shinobu's, parents are getting a divorce and the resturant is too much for the mother alone to run so they plan on moving to a lower rent home.

The next day it shows Shinobu's parents fighting and Shinobu leaving the home once again, making her way to the Hinata Inn (This time the arrows are pointing towards the direction she is walking). She is stopped by Keitaro who apologizes and invites her to the Inn for a special "Goodbye Shinobu Party" as a way of saying sorry that they didn't get to know each other more before she had to move. As her and Keitaro enter the dinning room it explodes, it seems the more cooks in the kitchen do spoil the meal. Shinobu steps in command of the kitchen and in moments the table is filled with all sorts of great tasting foods that came from the mess the others had started.

Outside the Inn Shinobu's parents arrive at Haruka's cafe, asking if she had seen Shinobu pass by or even enter the Inn. They bow and make their way up to the Inn just as things inside are calming down and everyone is finishing their meals. Haruka enters the kitchen and informs everyone that Shinobu's parents are about because today was moving day. Naru apologizes and cheerfully suggest that Shinobu be on her way, but Keitaro can see that Shinobu is afraid of moving, as if she was afraid of running away from her troubles. Keitaro grabs Shinobu and runs off through the Inn, in an attempt to escape from her parents. They arrive on the dock (where the clothing is hung and the passage to the roof of the Inn is) and Shinobu makes her way ontop of the roof, walking slowly to the other end of it, dropping a small pink bag off her skirt. She tells Keitaro that she use to play at the Inn when she was younger and the roof was her special spot. Keitaro interrups her by saying that the cookies in her little bag are delicious and that he'd love to eat this kinda cooking all the time. Shinobu then ask how it feels to be a student in Toudai and that she could never make it into such a school because she's a poor student. Keitaro insures her that anyone can get into Toudai with work, just like he has. Before he can catch himself in a lie her parents finally catch up and demand Shinobu return to one of them to leave, Shinobu speaks up, for probably the first time in a long while, to her parents and tells them that she doesn't want to change schools, home, she doesn't want to run away from her problems and that she will stay at the Hinata Inn if it's ok with Keitaro. Keitaro agrees and things stop at that.

The next morning Naru, Kitsune and Haruka are shown in the hot spring, Kistune happy that Shinobu has decided to say and that she'll get to look forward to some 'real' food for a change. Naru is busy looking through Keitaro's drawing book, which Shinobu had been carrying around, when she turns to a page with a drawing of Keitaro done by Shinobu. Naru: "She was just afraid of running away."

-(End of Episode 2)-

Ranking: 10/10

My Thoughts: This episode is why it took me about 3 weeks to finally download the 3rd episode. I had watched it so many times for known reasons. A whole episode that explains and looks into the life of a character is always needed, especially this early in the series. Don't worry Motoko fans, in the next episode she returns to the Inn, and things begin to get really bad for poor Keitaro.

EDIT: forgot to post ranking and my thoughts.

Episode 3: Kendo-Girl in love!? "Swordplay!"

The episode begins like an old Japanese silent film. The setting, an all girl Kendo Dojo. The character, Motoko, finishing her last day of training before returning home, the rain begins to pour.

Keitaro, as well as his 2 friends, are resiving their results from the last mock exam, and neither are happy with their scores. So his friends suggest they go out and hit on some girls to forget about their troubles. As they walk through the rain they fail sevreal times before Keitaro speaks up, breaking the silence of the movie feel, but that's not what he ment by "lets just give up." As the sound returns around them his 2 friends spot 4 lovely young girls, one being Motoko who doesn't take very kindly to the young mens actions and knocks them away with her Ki, from the tip of her umbrella.

Motoko then targets Keitaro as his friends run for their life. Pulling him up in an attempt to prove him a lesson in hitting on defenceless girls he accidently drops his hand ontop her chest, causing Motoko to not only blush, but use a powerful attack once again to send him flying away.

Keitaro, wet and defeated, returns to the Inn and enters the laundry room, only to walk right into a half naked Motoko, who is now ready to end the life of this lonely stalker. Thankfully Shinobu turns around the corner and sees Keitaro backed against a wall by the sword wielding girl and screams for help. Everyone joins and it becomes apparent to Motoko that Keitaro isn't a stalker, but worse! the manager of the Inn!

Motoko quickly objects(sp?) to having a young man as the manager and exits the small meeting. Naru then informs Keitaro of Motoko's past and her skill as a master of the "God Crys School" at the age of 13! Never the less, Keitaro feels he should try to become friendly with Motoko and intrudes on her training... cutting falling leaves inhalf. Motoko spots him and sends another attack at him, sending him a bit into the air. But before she can express her anger anymore she passes out for a second, Keitaro catching her, then awakes to send Keitaro flying even further for even thinking he could touch her.

Everyone enters to see if Keitaro is alright and Motoko leaves to walk and think about why she feels so odd around him. After stopping for a second the town elders speak up and say that she is in love. Motoko, not wanting to accept this rushes back to seek guidance from Naru. As this is going on Keitaro spots a hole in the ceiling of his room and investagates only to find himself in Naru's room, between her and Motoko. This, again, drives Motoko's anger as she uses one of her speical attacks to send him right into Naru's wall, but before she can do anymore Naru insures Motoko that the hole has always been there and Keitaro is innocent of any crim. Motoko begins to speak out against him and causes herself to faint.

Motoko awakes in her bed, beside Kaolla, who tells her that she's got a cold and a bad fever from training in the rain and getting so worked up over Keitaro. Motoko smiles and rest, glad that she wasn't in love, but snaps back awake claming that Keitaro was using some evil to make her think she was in love with him, rushing out of bed to his room to challenge him to a match. Keitaro, however, doesn't want to fight and beigns to run about, trying to escape her, but is soon cornered on the roof top. As Motoko begins her final assult she falls faint again and begins to tip off to the side. Keitaro rushes to her and grabs her just before both go falling off the edge into rocky hot spring below. Motoko snaps too and begins to struggle, wanting to be free of his grip, but Keitaro, this time, speaks up and says he cannot let her go, because no matter how much she disproves of him he is still the manager and is responsable for her safty.

Motoko halts her assult and with his help climbs back to the roof top, just in time as the edge Keitaro is holding gives way, causing him to fall into the hot spring, unharmed.

Both Keitaro and Motoko are bedstruck as everyone else enjoys the hot spring. Kaolla finds a small wallet belonging to a College Prep student..... Keitaro! How will things go for Keitaro once they confront him about his lie of being a Toudai student!?

-(The end of Episode 3)-

Ranking: 7/10

My thoughts: While the beginning is really funny, the constant assult by Motoko gets kinda old by the time she challenges him at the end. The finding by the residents that he isn't a Toudai student begins the horror that is being a Manager of a all girl dorm.
