Has this actually been proven to work? can you get certain rares at certain beats?

I think its worth it because then you might be able to confirm the rumor.

i just say...
play and record your beat times when you find a rare. there is a thread here dedicated to compiling beat times. also, excavation reports have beat times so look up those
