I have set up my gamecube using a router so that i can share the connection from the computer, but in doing so I cant connect to my web server. Does a hub screw around with the IP adrress?

how many ports does your router have?

Make sure they aren't trying to use the same IP.

well, I dont know the first thing about routers. Ive tried everything from making a static IP redirect system etc etc etc. Is there an alternative to a router that does the job without screwing around with the IP?

When I first started playing PSO, I just used a cheap Netgear Hub. I didn't need to do anything but run a cat5 cable to my GC from the hub and I was connected.
Now that I have it as part of a network, I have to manually assign IP and DNS for each memory card's Network settings.

Basically I ran the cable from my cable modem to my hub (which was port 1). I then ran a cable from port 2 to my computer and a cable from port 3 to my GC. My setup is totally different now, but the method I described worked great. If you have an error 102 when trying to connect, let me know and I can help you work around that. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

well, I finished the whole thing. Come to find out I forgot one DNS entry. but in the long run it works great and my router is cool. But the only time I altered my gamecube's settings is when I made the browser for it. Maybe it is still around here somewhere.....

It's funny how easy it is to redirect the gamecube to a custom made website. Its just too bad they dont accept IFrames http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Its also easy to direct it to custom servers. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Baru I know has one and I'll have my own set up very soon.

cool cool. I myself was thinking about throwing on a custom server.
