Why were we created? If I recall correctly (which I rarely do) I am a combination of perhaps animal or monster DNA...to create what exactly? Someones sex slave? Maybe a fighting machine? What do you imagine the social standings of Newmen are? Are we considered second class citizens on Pioneer 2? We are biological reconstructs. What makes us any different from androids? Why do you think we are so gifted in the use of the force? It is clear to me that I am far superior to any human. And the fact that newmen and Humans could cast spells that increase their power and defense, heal without items, raise dead without items, cast a single spell and hit everything on the screen, freeze enemys with a spell, have MUCH more variety in character creation, and be almost every bit as powerful as any android! Oh and by the way, electric spells don't paralize me like they do androids. And they are only immune to poisen and certain forms of paralisis. I , BWS-1, the HUcast, will help you understand the droids...

First, I took about 2 hours trying to find, in all the characters, witch would be more suitable to me. I found out that the droids were the race that mostly represent my soul, 'cause as a machine, I shouldn't be having a soul. Ok now before you start to say "wtf? it doesn't make any sence?" in your head, let me tell u this: newman, human, androids, all are machines; they just don't have the same physical conseption. One is made of flesh, the other, of steel.

Strangely, people that would see me walking on the street may think I'm a machine. Why? 'cause, as androids, I don't show any "emotions" in my face. But when you know the person, droid of living, you can feel it soul. And as a HUcast, and mostly as an android, I can say that it's not because you are made of a different matter that u don't have a soul. The incapability to cast magic is just a physical thing. We can't generate such energy because we are not made that way. As humain can't put there arms back in there body.

What's a Muskat you may ask? Well.. it looks rather like a Miyazaki-esque squirrel from Nausicaa Valley of the Wind. Or maybe the fox-like critter from Grandia 2, but yellowish instead of red or white...

In terms of civil rights for Newmen, I'd be happy if I could just enter a lobby without some moron making comments about my posterior or displaying lewd pictures with symbol chat. As a newoman (and a real life 30-year-old woman), there's only so much any one person can take and it's really getting on my nerves.

In terms of actual in-character social standing, though, I'd say it would depend on the level of enlightenment of the society. If it's a Star Trekky type of universe, there wouldn't be any noticeable differences aside from small groups of extremists. If it's reflective of our own world, things would be a bit more turbulent. If there were a race of cloned humans who turned up in 2001, each of whom was engineered to be superior to humans, I doubt those humans would rush out to give them all hugs. They'd likely be seen by humans as monsters without souls. Then again, I doubt androids would fare much better.

I've gotten the impression that we're in good standing withing Pioneer 2's society. If we were considered second class citizens, I doubt that we would be allowed to participate in the same roles as that of the other two races, i.e. Hunters, doctors, etc. Contrast this with Nei, who wasn't allowed to work and was forced into hiding due to how her society viewed her.

Is any one race better than another? I don't think so. In my experience, the more integrated a team the better - each race has attributes working for and against it, supporting a cooperative environment (not that going at it like a one man army isn't a blast as well). At any rate, perhaps this is an argument for why this society seems fairly 'flat', class-wise... Newmans aren't better than Humans, just different. Likewise for the 'bots. There's no threat to add friction between the races - plus, without a home world in the first place, everyone really needs to stick together anyhow.

OK, enough of this touchy feely crap. If anything's wrong with this place, it's the Principal's office. All human, mostly male. Looks like the glass ceiling has held strong over the years. For all the femmes that have saved Algol over the years, you'd think that one of these days they could land a better position than librarian/transport secretary/nurse.

Oh - forgot about this little tidbit on the subject of newman reproduction. At one point, Sega released a Japanese book called 'The Phantasy Star Compendium' (I think) that contained concept sketches for characters in the various titles in the series. Among these is an illustration of a male child born from Rika and Chaz after the events in PS4 - Looked like a cute little Chaz with Rika's ears. I assume that you'd be fertile, DG, at least with respect to humans.

In the other Phantasy Star games tha androids are seperated from the Robots in the fact that they can reason and have emotions. I think that they are pretty much sentients as anyone else on Pioneer 2. The only diffrence between them and the androids in the other PS games is that they don't have flesh on their hulls. Maybe we haven't invented it yet?

I think that maybe we might be decended from Myau form Phantasy Star 1, but that's just one person's speculation. Oh well.

I think that the Force newmen/newwomen have their ears like that because of their hats. They even look heavy! The thought of wearing one makes my ears droop.

Hey, I keep seeing us newmen as service industry people, but never in the army or in positions of power. I only work as a clerk in the Bureau of Land Management, but I don't see any of my supervisors that are newmen. I went to the Official PSO website with Babel fish translator and looked up the classes. It's says that humans are on top of th social heirarchy, and newmen on bottom. It said that humans were on top because they were the creators of both of the other classes. Androids have much higher status than newmans because they have existed much longer than newmen. Yet they are still far below humans. And newmen have existed for a very short period of time, so they are lookd down upon.

I thought the site was very interesting. I wish they would translate it to english. The english version is just crap. =P

Once upon a time, was a hyperactive dork named Chaz Ashley, and his girlfriend Rika. After beating PS4, they have a huge teen party (Chaz is only 16!) and end up doing wierd stuff. After Chaz sends the videotape of his wierd stuff to America's Funniest Home Videos, he finds out that stuff has the power to create kids. The new little child is named... uhh... Danger_Girl!

Adopting Rei Ayanami's nifty multiple bodies trick, DG survives for thousands of years by putting the spares in suspended animation in her freezer.

During her everlasting life, she thus marries husband after husband (who die from old age while DG still has young spare bodies in the freezer) and overcrowds the planet with Newmen.

One new race in the world! Woo-hoo! DG is proud. Problemo: the planet is gonna die! DG hops into Pioneer II with a bunch of fellow newmen and makes a fortune selling her spare bodies under the cute product name Scape Doll.

In the meantime, a rootbeer-powered dude named KodiaX and his friend, an Asparagus-powered hunter named IceBlink come up with the following theorems:

One of the most memorable characters I have ever met on my traviels on Ragol. He looked something like an african elvis. A laugh a minute. Truly a unique character. All kidding aside, I really haven't thought about what Newmans are all about. We've got this mysterious force I guess. I left this on another post... I've managed to stay alive more with my FOnewm than my RAcast. Though I like my RAcast. And yes, andoids have feelings too (i.e. Elenor). My RAcast may be a big/bad lookin android, but he got a soft spot, just don't provoke him. He loves chasin after Rappies. Muhahha....err... =)

And Yes, I can confess I've made some lewd comments online, mainly to entertain the folks that like that kinda of stuff. I really don't mean offend. If it makes you laugh, cool. Glider, you can make an ape android. When I was making a new character, I was fiddling around with the HUcast. I made it as tall as possible, and then made it's shoulders as wide as possible.
