I think you can't get on with AOL period. AOL sucks anyways. Try getting MSN or something else instead. In my opinion.

You cant get online with AOL dial up at all, although if your willing to put some effort in, and spend some time AOL broadband can sometimesbe made to work, if your lucky.

Basicly you need to get rid of AOL, and use another ISP.

To get rid of AOL:
save all documents and other important files that are stored on your p.c,
use your operating system install disk, and do a fresh install of the operating system deleting everything on the hard disk first.
