I belive that happens when there's a certain number of people or more in one of those type of lobbies when you teleport in.

Each user in a team or lobby - I call it being in a "room" - has an ID number within the team. You can think of each ID number as being a "slot". There are 4 slots in a team, numbered 0, 1, 2, and 3. Similarly, there are 12 slots in a lobby, 0 through 11.

For whatever reason, lobbies 11 through 13 do not have a "starting point" defined for IDs 10 and 11. If you receive ID 10 or 11, you will go to the default coordinates, which is (0, 0, 0). In those maps, this is the center of the lobby (Z coordinate 0 is along the plane of the floor).

When you join a team or lobby, you are assigned the lowest available ID number. (Exception: For unknown reasons, creating a team assigns you ID 1, not 0. I personally believe this is a bug in Sega's server code.)

You can see the room IDs in action:

- In a team, your gem color directly reflects your ID: 0=red, 1=green, 2=yellow, 3=blue.

- In both lobbies and teams, the color of chat messages directly reflects your ID. The color for IDs 0...3 matches the gem colors from teams. For 4...11, they obviously don't, but they are always fixed - the same ID always gets the same colors.

- In the "Send Card" command, users are listed in order of ID number.

To prove that something weird is going on regarding how creating a team gives you a green gem, you can do this experiment:

Let there be 3 users, A, B, and C.
1. Have user A create a team.
2. Have user B join this team.
3. Have user C join this team. A is green, B is red, and C is yellow.
4. Have users A and B leave the team, leaving C alone.
5. Have either A or B join the team. This new user gets red.

If what I said were false, the new user should get green. But they get red.

Perhaps the lobbies 11 to 13 have this bug as a leftover from them being soccer lobbies on the Dreamcast?

Barubary basically explained it nicely.

I should try this.

I need 10 volunteers to go to Antares 2 block 12!

Man, this sounds hilarious!
