Here's the deal, i have a router connected to my cable modem via ethernet cable. The 1st LAN port is connected to the pc with a NIC card which sends a signal to my 2nd pc to share the connection. I want to run a cable from the 2nd LAN port on my router to my Gamecube. Would this work? If so what cable do i need to hook the gamecube to the router, crossover or patch?. Also, does windows ME allow internet connection sharing cause thats the OS i have on the computer with the router. Thanks for the help.

from the above, i can make out the folowing:
your second p.c is on a network with your first p.c, and they can beoth share stuff over the network

if you are using a router, then you shouldnt need internet conection sharing ( although it is supported by your OS)

gamecube conected to router with patch lead.
my router is set up with NAPT, DHCP, DNS

I use a straight cable with mine, (connected to router), and am able to connect to the website, never tried getting a HL yet though.
