I'm looking to get a cheap USB keyboard for the adapter and was wondering if this $10 thing for PS2 would work with it? I have heard there are some compatibility issues with the adapter (not all keyboards work)... someone should really make a list or something.

The $20 USB PS2 keyboard works fine for the simple task of typing. But keep in mind some of the "special" symbols ( &*()<>:;"',ect...) are not accurate. For me the symbols are not that much of an issue.

There is something important here. If you are talking about a PC keyboard, *please* put a slash between S and 2, like this: PS/2. PS2 (PlayStation 2) and PS/2 (Personal System/2) keyboards are entirely different things. I couldn't understand the discussion because of the confusion...

Well... He did say PS2 USB, and seeing that there's no such thing as a PS/2 USB keyboard (though there is a PS/2->USB Keyboard adapter in existence), I think it's pretty safe to assume he's refering to a PlayStation 2 keyboard with a USB connector.

In which case, with these sorts of adapters, typically the more generic the keyboard, the better it works.

USB is USB is USB. There'll be no problems.

Question though - what happens if you plug a USB headset into the USB adapter?

The world blows up. But you can at least talk to other people.
