er, a wireless router will work to an extant, to do this you need to connect the wireless router to your p.c via a network interface card on your p.c, and then you will need to hook your gamecube BBA up to the wireless network using a wireless bridge.
another wireless option would be to install a wirelss network card into the back of your p.c, and a wireless bridge on your gamecube BBA.
Option1
aka basic wireless network
A wireless card will cost around 55pounds from DSL source (http://www.dslsource.co.uk/product_details.asp?idProduct=104)

and a wirelss bridge costs 81.08pounds again from DSL source (http://www.dslsource.co.uk/product_details.asp?idProduct=140)

total cost of wireless option is
136.08 pounds

Option2
wired modem/router
this device replaces your usb modem and they cost roughly 55pounds (DSL source have one at this price (http://www.dslsource.co.uk/product_details.asp?idProduct=92))
one ethernet lead goes from this device to your P.C and another ethernet lead goes to your gamecube, these vary in price, from 4pounds to 25pounds depending upon length (From Maplins (http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=031104184143509&moduleno=35312&Products=39))

Total cost of option2
70 pounds ( modem routers usualy have a length of ehternet lead included, so you only need one length to conect to your gamecube)

Option3
aka the budget quick fix option

for this you will need to have a spare ethernet output on your P.C, most p.cs have these, its the same socket as you have on your gamecube BBA line out, if you dont you will need to buy one for your P.C, these cost roughly 10.00 (ten)pounds
you will also need a crossover ethernet cabe, it MUST be a crossover ethernet cable, a normal one wont work, these cost the same price as normal ethernet leads.
to do this you need to set up internet conection sharing on your p.c, shared to your network card.

total cost of option 3
10pounds for a network card ( you may already have one)
15pounds for a crossover cable ( may be more depending on length needed)

35 pounds total cost

Sumary
option1 - wireless: 136 Pounds
option2 - modem/router: 70pounds
option3 -internet conection sharing: 35pounds
