I don't know how weird it is to all of you. It's probably has happen to some of you. The last 5 times I've went to play PSO, my Dreamcast would not recognize that my PSO disc is in the drive. It would usually boot up to the Dreamcast Logo screen then go back to the game/vmu/clock/music menu. If I try to click on game, it would say "please insert a disc" or something like that. At times i'd have to keep removing the disc and putting it back, but my DC would still not recognize. I'd always manage to get to play anyway. But I was wondering if this is an occurrence that has happened to any of you. I'm thinking it's something to do with my DC taking some time to read the serial number info. This hasn't happened to any of my other 73 games, and PSO is the only one with a serial number key to enter.

Just curious. Any comments/solutions/etc. would be welcomed. thanks

Actually, this happened to me when I first got PSO. Nothing I did would get it to work, I cleaned it, cleaned my DC, etc, etc, but nothing worked. The stupid Sonic demo would work, but PSO wouldn't.

Then I read on a messageboard that someone said I should (I AM NOT RECCOMENDING YOU DO THIS) put the disc in boiling water.

I thought, what the hell, the disc doesn't work, and what is the worst that'll happen? So I did it. And the disc worked again.

Weird stuff. But ever since then, my disc has worked perfectly. Why that fixed it, I have no idea.

That was happening to me almost all the time last month. I would just clean the disc and mess with the laser lens. Eventually it would work. It did this for 2 to 3 weeks, but for some reason it just stopped and hasn't came back since.
