AHHHHHH!

ive been wanting one since the DC days and it finally turned up last night. (should've been able to find it earlier, but it just wouldnt drop.)

we were just hanging out in the lobby goofing off and Vulpes Mundi offered to do a Caves run with me adding a sarcastic and funny comment about finding my long sought after RED SWORD.

Lo and Behold! in the first room, one of the very first items that drops from the second wave of baddies, is that RED SWORD! (o/o/o/o/o !!!)

i was stunned, shocked, and happy as hell! my PSO destiny has been written.

Hehe nice find that's surely the best findable sword i got 2 of them one w/o% and the other 20% A.beast.. the red sword got me through hell of a lot hope it serves you as much as it did me

i was just now raising mags and starting up an FoS run. instead of going straight to F2 where all the Bears are (well Delts/Torrs) i decided to clear all the rooms and goof off for a bit.

first room, first drop: RED HANDGUN http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif (0/0/0/0/0)

not as good as the sword, and much more common, but out of the 10,000 ULT Forest runs Deus has done, not 1 RED HANDGUN has dropped for him untill this run!

not amazing news to you maybe, but a joyous find for Deus.

Im still looking for a Red Sword but I cannot play that much anymore. In 3 runs: first run, nothing. Second run, Red Daggers. Third run, Sange. Not bad but still no Red Sword. >_<

i found 2 red handguns in the same run, as well as a pd. one is still untekked due to my yellowboze tekker not giving me my extra %'s http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif its currently at 5% machine 25% dark
the other tekked one is 15% machine 25% dark

I think it was pretty grand when I was just running around in ruins, and a Merlan threw me a Red Scorpio, then the next day, I was going "Maybe the Merlans will grace me with another Red Scorpio" while in the middle of a room. Bam, next Merlan that drops bestows me with a red box. XD

but the Claymore is just a red blade. the Red Sword is just unproportionate by the way it has a bigger normal blade (the metal part).

I found a red sword after about 30 caves runs while I was thinking"hey, wouldn't it be cool if I found a red sword!" and POW there it was. I am not sure though if red sword or chain sawd is better. and curse you on the luminouse field.

it is luck, but its also persistance.

ive done many many many Mines runs. they get boring so i take a break, then go back and back and back.

i guess its possible that certain rares will never drop for certain characters, but the more you try, the better the chances are that it will happen.

Vulpes has played alot of PSO. way more than me and his good rare finds outnumber mine in direct relation to that.

it also helps to have a good team that shares the good rares. online = more baddies and a better ratio of good drops some times.

wow. such joy over a weapon! And I must admit, it is very usefull, even though I love to use mechs just as much. But here's my rare hunting tip. JUST TAKE A BREAK FROM THATCHARACTER!! This has worked for me many a time, in fact, thats how I found the red sword. I went and worked on my pinkal force for a few weeks, and then there it was on my first run. This probably doesn't really help for rares, but it will definately calm you down when your mad about rare hunting.
