I got it a few days ago, it's an alright game. Not ground breaking or anything, it pretty much plays like any other MMORPG (EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, ect.), except with Final Fantasy-type stuff.

I've gotten up to about level 5 a few times, then erased my character because I was unhappy with it. Heh.

yeah, its too bad that it isn't coming out for Ps2 until March. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

All MMORPG's are the same, nobody actually plays for the game, just the social aspects.

fun? come on now, kent, i may have a short attention span, but it is boring unless you have infinite time on your hands. (work 50% sleep 15% girlfriend 45%, nope, no extra time for me.)

FF XI is fun? Hmmmm maybe I had the wrong game in my CD drive... *checks CD drive* Nope it was FFXI that dissapointed, but then again, after FF VII I lost all hope and expectations for the FF series.

I been playing the game since the import, and now it is so nice to actually understand everything about the game. Best MMORPG I played, in my opinion.

i can do simple math, you people are the ones that don't realize that 50+15+45=100. what they call math is all LIES I TELL YOU, LIES!!!

actually, when all you do all day is listen to people bith, piss, and moan about their issues with some random product they bought, you slowly go insane from all the stupidity that follows. ex: "i put my tin-foil wrapped frozen steak in the microwave, and not only did it not heat up, i had a lightshow going on in my kitchen!" yes, people, this is the kind of stupidity that i put up with at work. so it seems to last much longer than it sctually does. i had the time to rethink what i said, and work only takes up 35% of the time. *shrugs* oops.

I still recall the pain (yes, pain) I felt during the beta-test period, while kneeling down in order to recover. That's a smart idea. If you are a comatose chicken, THAT'S A FRIGGING SMART IDEA, SQUARE ENIX FUGGGERS!!!111

Oh, well... as usual Penny Arcade had said it better:

Yes, it's emasculating to be laid low by a rabbit. Paying ten dollars a month to experience it implies that I am managing some kind of self-esteem deficit.

...Not that any of the four discs need to be in the drive for you to play. You probably just played it for a couple hours and decided that it sucks from such little amount of playtime, right? It gets real good after about level 10, where you'll have to get into parties for most of your expeditions, thus introducing the teamwork, and the timing of Renkei and magic bursts.

Of course, you could just not be one for social interaction or online RPGs, but that's not my problem.

Display Properties, Settings tab, click Advanced, go to Adapter tab (or the tab your video card drivers have added, if they have added one).

Friend got it.

I watched it.

Boring.

The battle system is just cool enough to make me doze off in 10-15 minute periods, so the game should help me catch up on my sleep.

In other FF related news (the only news that matters)...

THEY JUST ANNOUNCED FINFAL FANTASY DANCING!!!! OMG ANOTHER GAME THAT IS FINAL FANTACYE RELATED!!!!!!!

That -should- be able to play it just fine. In fact, I'm using almost identical specs...

1.70Ghz
640MB DDR RAM
32MB PCI Nvidia video card
Cable internet connection

That runs the game flawlessly. No lag, no slowdown.

I can't guaranteed anything, though. So don't blame me if it doesn't work or something. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_redface.gif (Although, seriously, it should run fine.)

I'm getting the game! so anyone got their world, and world pass so i could go to their wordl? its most likely that i'll be the first of my friends to get it, so I'ma haveto give them my world pass, so yeah... I'd rather start out in a world where there are fellow PSOWers then in one compltely inhabited by jp players, where the klunky auto-translate will be running wild, and working itself to its limit. Huzza psow!

Kent
Nov 16, 2003, 09:09 AM
With the current prices of world passes, you can't seriously expect random people to buy them for you.

You can, however, make your character, and if s/he is made on a server you don't want to be on, you can delete the character, make it again, and get assigned to another random server.

And I suppose your friend has a very low level character, too? No spells or abilities yet? Odds are, that's why it seems boring. Try playing it (if your friend will let you) once he gets to a more advanced level in the game.

um... ok... thanks for the whole world thing... i had made a post talking about a linkshell for pSOW, but we'd all have to be on the same server, so someone would have to post a pass, and the world name. that idea got blown up, because obviously people don't want PSOW fFXIers to be all together? The problem with that is the fact that a World Pass works only for five people, and expires after a week, not to mention how expensive they are...
