I assume it has something to do with telepipes and resetting monster counts in a room. So how is it done? I want to go Burclaw hunting for DB'S ARMOR and it would be usefull for that.

I know the question sounds N00Bish, but you'll never learn if you don't ask...

Well, all you have to do is telepipe out of a room that has an enemy in it that could possibly become a rare.(Ep.2s VR temple is a GREAT place for this) telepipe back in, and look to see if the enemy has changed. If not, keep going. It may take you a week or so but eventually you will find a rare enemy this way. ....but for DBs ARMOR? I've gone rare enemy hunting for the Agito 1980, Kamui, and the Ancient Saber. I've seen all kinds of rare enemys using this technique. Cheap, (Not money but...'cheap') slow, but gurenteed to give you what you want...eventually.

exactly. it ONLY works for rare enemies. once enemies are dead, they dont come back using piping. so you'll have to make actual runs for your DB armor.
actually, piping is incredibly boring and may harm your diskdrive sooner or later. so use it with caution.
