Reminds me of Rod Lifeld's work from the mid-90's, especially the muscle definition (and non-existant ankles http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif )

Wow, very dramatic. That guy looks like he could rip me apart with no weapon at all...

Not someone I'd like to try to get mad...

Very nice, he seems to have a lot of feeling. (Like someone else has made him mad recently...)

Aside from the fact that I hate the style of American comics (the faces look too blocky for my taste), this is really good! Kinda scary in a "he could rip you apart without really trying" sort of way.

He looks like Wolverine. =D
I am not a big fan of American comic book style, however, it is novel to see PSO rendered in this particular way also.

Besides, I like how Batou overflow all his piccies with sheer masculinity. Very amusing.

very good (well as good as you an get with American comic style, why can't they just import all japanese products with translations and that's all?) it brings to mind a few questions though.

1.is he a cyborg (the arm looks completely robotic)
2.is he wearing a shirt, because it looks like he just has shoulder pads on that are connected to a collar (please have a shirt on *crosses fingers*)
3.which weapon is that (Kireek's?)
4. have any advice on how to a) draw hands, b) make shape of head, and c) make the feet/shoes look like their not folded at 90 degree angles.

Thanks Batou for nice motion tips. =} I like your motion piccies best.

One thing I would like to point out about female bodies.. well breast is that. The shape and fall of the breast depends very much on what kinda clothing that is being worn. I realize in normal PSO clothings they would generally be pushed up and to the centreline for maximum clevage. However. If the person is wearing any type of clothing that isn't constricting and such, breasts would fall even further than pecs (or man boobs, as I would like to call them) (again, depending on size, more size, more fall). Sometimes it bothers me to see breasts drawn like two pieces of rock. ... and it sometimes whacks the whole female body shapes and lines.

... Well. In any case. I look forward to hands section. It is hard to draw a pair of hands that doesn't look deformed in one way or another.

no wonder i hate color! (it's not you, it's color in general, you could be the best colorer in the world and i still would like black and white better) how about a burning city for a background, it go with our american comics any ways *rolls eyes*

No I read them as hex numbers also.
Hmm... How about some crazy mop in behind? Like "Let's put everything in burnination!!" and mop goes "YAAA" and then charge on.

... How about a contrast, have something really peaceful in the back. Like... waterfall.

...
..
Mwahaha. Grab job your Batouness. =D *bows*

woooo hooooooo, batou is good at drawing...but 2 questions. whats wrong with the side of his mouth (did he try to eat a live sea urchin or a cactus?) and whats he holding?

The mouth, looks like he was hit pretty hard... and the weapon... looks similar to an Imperial Pick. =)

You're just jealous you cant draw like that death... lol j/k. IMO, I love black and white too, but Coloring it gives everything a splash of detail, other than what you imagined it to be... which is the same thing as making a book into a movie, it's different than what you originally had it in you mind to be.

I am only envious of how you are able to draw straight lines... especially on that goddamn mecha-arm....

As much as I love drawing RAcaseals... I can't stand how I mess up their outlines..... maybe I'm not messing up.... maybe I"m missing a certain tool.....

At home... all I have is a Pencil... and a sheet of paper... or sheets, rather....

This is why I can't wait to go to school... I've never had an art class before.... haha...

I basically taught myself to draw... been doing it for 15 years now....

BAH!

Nice arm, man....

I have never taken any art classes either. And well, fancy things aside, a pencil, and sheet of paper is sometimes all you need to make cool piccies. =}

As for lines. Er. You noticed I am not very good in crisp straight lines? Hence I go with rough look. Pretend it's part of the style. =} But, the key to drawing crisp lines is... LOTS and LOTS of patience. That is sometimes your best bet. Keep going man, you are pretty good. =D

I agree, Pencil Shading is always impressive.. but theirs something about color to me that just makes the picture alot more lively..

I love american comics.. especialy marvels since of color and dramatic style.. I love their collor usage, especial when it comes to light afects and shiny objects..

The two main things I realy like about your pic is that You have good use in perspectives and nothing realy looks sloopy.. everything is sharp and well proportioned.. whenever I draw something theres almost always something thats badly proportioned or slopyly drawn that i just cant get past, but you pull it off nicely.. quite posibly better than me..

I also love the teeth man the teeth.. the black space on the side kinda gets me, but his teeth are shapped perfectly and coolred flawlessly if i do say so myself..

As for the mech hand,, im love it.. it the first part of the perspective picture you catch and to me the most impressive part of the picture.(so far since you say your only 60 percent done..)

Good job Batou. I like it alot. Why does everyone always criticize the colored versions? I think coloring makes it look more finished. But thats just me. I love American comic style, and anime style, and even though I can't draw the uber-buff american style I still loveit. (I'm haveing keyboard troubles, and I'm workingon a pic while typeing. I'm to hard on keyboards...)

I don't mean to pry, but how old are you? Your profile indicates that you are 18. You have been drawing since you were three?
