So, how do you refer to sweet carbonated beverages? Soda? Soft drink? Pop(Ugh)? Coke? This has probably been done before, but hasn't everything? >_>;

I do refer to it as soda, but most of the time I just refer to it as Pepsi. *shurghs* Comes with the upbringing I guess.

If you have various kinds in the house, you ask "Anyone want a soda?" and for those who say yes, then you let them know the exact kinds you have.

Around here it depends entirely on the family and the area, but both are used(Soda/Pop). Somedays you'll say "Want some soda?" and others you'll say "Want some pop?".

More often than not, the specific kind is said instead of just "pop" or "soda".

"Want some cherry coke?" etc

Around here, most people call it pop or the brand of soda they drink. I think it's a regional thing on the pop/soda debate.

I usually just say "Coke". My grandpa likes to say "Sodie-Water". And I've also heard some people use "Sugar-Pop", "Bellywasher", and "Fizzy Water".

Where do people think these up? ^_^

I refer to it precisely by name. If I have guests over I'll offer them a "beverage". If they want one, then I go through the specific types that we have.

Would you like some dihydrogen monoxide with some carbonic acid?

That's seltzer, folks. Yummy. Cures the alchohol cravings!

No "cold one" option?
My freinds and I refer to them thanks to strongbad.

The 1-itude is drictly porpotional to the cold-itude of the one.

Bascily, the colder it is the more of a one it is.
Cause you wouldn't want to end up with a cold none.
I would wish that on anybody.

How about Cool Ones?

I just call them drinks.

"Four drinks for four cool guys."

"Would those four guys be you, Strongbad, Strongmad, and The Cheat?"

You first ask if anyone wants something to drink.

Then they say, "I want a pop."

Then you say, "What kind of pop do you want?"

Then they say, "I want a Pepsi."

well, here in the land of shirts and goggles, people tend to call it pop. and then i scream "it's a soda, you freak!" ahh, the culture differences of colorado vs. california. but, i have converted a few of my friends. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif nowadays, i just tend to say beverage, and then go from there, figuring out what kind of beverage they prefer...

No, you ask 'What kind of -soda- do you want, and if you call it pop again I rip your eyes out of their sockets and use them as wall decor' XD

I actually don't know what the frell they call it here in North Carolina. I avoid people and socialization here in the hick-filled sticks like an uber-legit avoids Vega. I'm used to 'soda', though, that's what was used in NorCal where I grew up.

In my area we call it Coke. I call it that because http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/coke.gif was the first, and I drink http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/coke.gif, not http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/pepsi.gif.
