After seeing my character appearing in brilliant stories by very kind authors, I've decided to try to add just one more story to the world of Phantasy Star Online. It will be written about my character and my brother's character.
My brother's character was deleted by causes we later discovered could have been easily fixed. I let him keep all of the weapons he was borrowing from me at the time to help his new character rise from the ashes of the old, but he still seems crestfallen from having to start anew. So I am writing the story of how Cosmo, a red HUcast, perished.
If I do well at this, I may be able to write more fanfics in the future, and I will be sure to include my friends as they have chosen to include me. But for this one, I want to keep it accurate, as this will be to honor Cosmo.
The input I need is just about how to present this fanfic. Should I write it all at once, then post it? Or should I take medium sized parts and post them slowly? Also, anyone who would like to help me with my writing style, I would welcome your comments. I have read Kafka's guide, so I just hope I don't ignore everything in it for lack of sleep, arrogance, etc. Anyway, what do you think?

yay, you read my guide http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

if its going to be a respectful ode filled with heroic battles and great deeds, then make it "over the top"

...actually, i think that i should go pu an add-on to my guide...

Yeah, it'll be a little respectful, but you won't be able to tell right away, considering all the trash-talking. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif While I do OK at composing (I hate research and planning. Blech!), I'm most worried about my fight scenes. I've NEVER done those before. Still, the stuff I've written so far has been pretty fun. Problem is, I gotta tear myself away right now. It's 3 AM. O_O Still, I'll be able to continue on this tomorrow after I work some on a school project. I hope my brother likes it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

BTW, that really was a nice guide. BTW, I love the Pandora Chronicles. I wish I had started reading it sooner. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Definitely in pieces, it helps the reader who is not swamped by text plus you can gain valuable feedback as it progresses

So not like that Red Ring Rico story you did? It seemed overwhelming, but it was still awesome. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Anyway, I guess I could put up the first part now. About how long should each piece be?

Hey! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
That was my first fic and so I hadn't put any thought into the average reader's comfort level. All my subsequent fictions have since been broken up into distinct chapters to greatly aid readers. (Its a shame that nobody reads 'em http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif )

PS I reformated RRR into chapters and cleaned it up (follow the fanfiction.net link in my sig if you care).

Hey hey, I meant nothing by that! I loved that story, seriously! I was just saying it would be like that if I post it all at once. I could try to break it up into chapters, if you think that'll help.

As you are well aware, people can be intimidated by large blocks of text (particularly if they are limited in the amount of time they can spend on the site).

If i was to post the story again, i would use the new version broken into chapters. In my opinion its the best course of action.

BUT... In the end its just my opinion. If you feel that posting in one go is more suitable then by all means go for it (I won't stop you http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif )

OK, here goes nothing. Please tell me if I'm doing too much dialogue. Starting a new paragraph for each new speaker makes it look tons longer. Anyway, the first chapter:
----------------------------
Chapter 1-The Mission
It all started with a special quest at the Hunter's Guild. Sunblast, seeing this as an excuse to get off of Pioneer 2 for a while, quickly accepted it. He left the Guild and went in search of Cosmo, his HUcast partner.
Cosmo had always been considerably weaker than Sunblast, since Sunblast had been a RAmar since before Cosmo was built. This head start meant that Cosmo couldn't join Sunblast on some of his harder missions, and it put him further behind. Fortunately, this quest would not be too difficult, and it paid well enough to entice Cosmo, who was not very interested in experience.
As Sunblast was walking down the street, the civilians and military of Pioneer 2 gave him strange looks. And why shouldn't they? He is quite the sight to behold. He wore the standard armor for a RAmar, but he chose to paint it in dark purple and black. He wore a facemask he had made himself to cover all but his eyes, which had transparent, yellow plastic over them. The mask gives him an overall evil look, which is intentional. His hair is made of spikes that are slicked backwards and dyed royal purple to match his armor. He has had his purple theme since he was a young boy, so he was very much used to the stares by now.
As he moved about the crowds, he noticed the glowing sign that signified the Hunter's Market, an area that has dealers of weapons, armor, and tools. It also has a tekker on duty, but each tekker has his or her own specialties in identification. Sunblast moved into the marketplace, hoping to spot Cosmo arguing with the tekker about a weapon he was going to end up selling, anyways.
As he scanned the unusually crowded room, he immediately spotted Cosmo, towering above the other patrons. Cosmo was a very large android. In fact, he was as tall as his model would allow. He had a fairly average build, and he had red armor with white lining. His most prominent feature was the large horn sticking from his head. Jokingly referred to as his "head-wang," it allowed Sunblast to spot him even more easily. As predicted, he was arguing with the tekker, and he was also keeping a lot of other hunters waiting.
"Look, I'm going to tell you one more time, sir," the tekker said, clearly holding back his impatience. "This item's ability is soul, not geist. Besides, what do you care? You're an android!"
"I care because I am right," retorted Cosmo. "It is geist, and you are a fool for not seeing this."
Sunblast approached the tekker's booth, getting angry looks from the people waiting in line, and then awkward looks from his purple armor. "Is there a problem here?" asked Sunblast.
"Oh, thank you, Sunblast! Look what this guy is trying to pull! This weapon is obviously a geist weapon, right?"
"Cos, you know that geist takes energy from enemies and turns it to mental energy, right?"
"Of course."
"Then why does it matter?"
"It's the principle!"
"Ugh, look, I've got a job for us. Let's just get out of here." Sunblast paid the tekker the identification fee, then shoved the item into Cosmo's armor-plated chest. "Sorry for the trouble, friend."
"Not a problem," said the tekker, with a twitch in his eye. "Please come again."
Sunblast exited the marketplace with Cosmo in tow. As soon as they found a quiet area near a window looking down upon Ragol, Cosmo spoke up.
"Why did you have to do that? I had him right where I wanted him. He was going to give in!"
"No, he was going to call the cops. I just saved your tin can."
"Fine. What is this job you got for us?"
"I think you're really going to like it. We're going down to the seabed facility. There, we have to get to one of the big Olga computers and download the blueprints of some other facility the military wants to look into. There's been little resistance down there, lately, but some hunters have been getting seriously hurt because they weren't prepared. But don't worry about that right now, because I've already cooked up a nice plan."
"Sounds interesting, but how much does this quest pay?"
"I think you'd be surprised. The reward is 5,000 meseta. How sweet is that?"
"An easy job that pays a lot? Every hunter must have wanted it. How did you get it?"
"Well, let's just say my reputation has won me some special attention from the secretary."
"What reputation?"
Sunblast glared at Cosmo for a moment before replying, "Alright, I was bothering the lady at the desk, so she gave me this quest and told me to go away. There, ya happy? Yeesh, we've got to get you a humor chip for your next upgrade."
Cosmo looked confused. Or at least as confused as an android can look. "Why would I need it? I am already quite funny."
Sunblast held back a snicker. "No no no, you mean funny looking."
"That is not at all what I meant."
"I was kidding."
"Oh. Are you sure perhaps you don't need a humor chip?"
"Cosmo, I'm impressed! Is that a joke?"
"Negative."
Sunblast sighs. "Fine, let's just get on with the mission."
----------------------------
So, how was it? Remember, you gotta be brutally honest! That way, I'll have a motive when i come after you (just kidding, of course)! By the way, anyone know how to keep the punctuation from turning to ?s when copying and pasting to here? I figured this would happen, too. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif And I also need to figure out how to tab in here...

Ah, all your " and ' are belong to us... Music to my ears...

You can turn off autocorrect on MS word (all of it, including smart quotes), or type it in notepad or wordpad, or type it on here, copy and paste to MS word, and copy and paste back after spellschecking.

Someone ought to make a guide for THAT!

Good start (finally you write something. group fic now, maybe?) and I'm interested in how this will turn out. And don't stress too much on this. Stressing while drinking coffee and vinegar will get your bodily acid percent up too high...

But drinking uber amounts of caffine is just fine, right? Jeez, I'm still so nervous. I decided to do this because My brother and I had pretty much talked out the whole plot and even planned some of the scenes. All in the name of fun. But they were so good I just had to make the story! I don't know about Group-Fics, though. They still worry me. I joke around so much that it could mess up what the more serious people are doing, and they'll decide Sunblast is so ugly, removing the head would be an improvement... I'll try messing with the autocorrect. Thanks for the help. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif And thanks everyone for reading it.

It will have my first battle, but it's a very short lived one. Chapter three goes up same time on thursday. After that, things become uncertain. Too many school projects at the same time. By the way, thanks for the tip, MQuantum. I haven't tested it out yet, but it looks like your advice fixed everything except the italics, but I don't mind fixing those so much. Anyway, gotta do a rough draft for writing. Printer doesn't work, so it has to be by hand. BLERGH!!! After that, I'll start on chapter 4. Thanks for reading, guys. ---------------------------
Chapter 2-The Master Plan
Sunblast and Cosmo walked into an area of Pioneer 2 commonly called "the lab." They both waved to Elly, the operator, but she was too preoccupied with something to notice. The pair approached the teleporter that would transport them to the seabed facility. Together, they entered the shimmering light, and then appeared a moment later deep under the waters of Ragol.
"Sunblast? Perhaps now is a good time to introduce your crack-pot scheme." Cosmo made a strange, grating sound, similar to white noise.
"Let me guess, a joke?"
"Of course. Do you not understand it?"
"No, no, I get it. Ha ha. Now, display the map data we have of this area."
Cosmo's Kama and Sunblast's Bhirava gave each other knowing glances. Cosmo turned towards a wall. His eyes then lit up, creating a luminous projection of the map.
"OK, here's the plan. There have been more and more hunters coming down here simply to train. This is why the monsters have gotten smarter. OK, well, if we just go towards the terminal, there's going to be a big party waiting for us. This is where my plan comes into effect. I will enter the ventilation shafts here," Sunblast pointed his gloved finger at a spot near where they are. "Now, they probably won't expect an invasion through the vents, but just to make sure, I need you to make a distraction."
"Why must I always make the distraction?"
"Because you're better at it! Besides, there's no way your fat can is going to fit into those vents. It's got to be this way. Don't worry. It'll be a synch, and you could use the experience. Just go around and fight monsters. Any questions?"
Cosmo continued to look towards the wall.
"OK, cool. Alright, let's go!"
Sunblast drew his Gush Launcher while Cosmo wielded his Grass-Assassin Sabers, which were gifts from Sunblast. They headed into the first room, which quickly filled with three squid-like creatures. Sunblast lifted his weapon, taking care not to hit Cosmo, and fired at all three. The shock from the blast allowed Cosmo to unleash a fury of twin bladed attacks. He left large scars across the midsections of the squids, as well as a few tentacles on the floor. Cosmo took a dramatic pose, raising one blade to eye level and putting the other held behind him, then he leapt towards his enemies to give the finishing blows. Before he could reach them, red bolts scorched past his head and flattened the squids. Cosmo gave a distorted buzz towards Sunblast, who simply shrugged it off.
They approached the ventilation duct up high on the wall. Sunblast exchanged his large shot for his smaller pistol, a Varista. He stared intently at it, remembering when he found it. He and Cosmo were in the caverns deep beneath Ragol. They had just cleared a room of enemies, but found that the door was still locked. They moved about, looking for any switches they may have missed, until a large, mechanical monster popped out of the ground in front of Sunblast. He opened fire with his recently found shot, only to find the creature was invulnerable to his attacks. The beast moved towards him and prepared to attack, only to screech in pain as its back was slashed from a well-aimed swing of Cosmo's saber. The monster, knowing it was surrounded, split into two separate creatures with photon blades extending from their claws. Sunblast tried firing his shot again, and scored direct damage to it. Both creatures fell simultaneously. Both of their corpses left behind strange, red-colored boxes. The scanners on their wrists could only identify them as guns of some sort. The two hunters each took one, full of joy at their first special weapons. Both were revealed to be Varistas. One was very basic, while the other one had special photons that hurt dark-type creatures more than usual. Sunblast still had the stronger of the two, and he wielded it now as Cosmo boosted him into the ventilation shaft.
Sunblast turned his head back and yelled down to Cosmo, "Good luck, man!"
"I'm afraid that is impossible. My luck has not yet risen by way of material consumption."
"Oh, right. The whole 'hogging all the luck mats' thing. I'll give you some power materials when we finish this job, ok?
"Alright. I hope to hear from you soon."
Sunblast turned back towards the vent, now lit by the spotlights on his Bhirava, and proceeded to crawl deeper into the shaft. Cosmo stared up at the vent for a moment longer before turning towards the door to the next room and his next battle.

Chapter 3-Showtime
When Cosmo entered the next room, he immediately noticed the vast windows, showing views of a coral reef. Also in the room was a small, artificial waterfall, with drab rocks contrasted by green moss and azure water dripping over them. As he observed the water, his audio sensors picked up vibrations on the other side of the room. With silent grace, a large, cobalt-colored robot, which Cosmo recognized as a Sinow Zoa, appeared near the far wall. He readied his Grass-Assassin Sabers, then took a step towards his foe. He stopped abruptly, and wondered why the Sinow Zoa had made itself apparent like that. Then he turned on his heat vision, and he knew the answer. The room was filled with traps. Sunblast was right. They are getting smarter. Cosmo quickly drew his Fill Autogun and dispatched the traps with expert accuracy. He holstered the gun and switched back to his sabers, only to find the Sinow had left. He automatically took a defensive position and he continued to look about the room. Something caught his eye. He spun in the direction of the light, only to realize it was a harmless, shiny fish outside the window. As he watched the fish, he also saw his own reflection, as well as the reflection of something behind him...
Cosmo turned and swung at his invisible attacker. The robot became visible, shielding itself from the slashing and awaiting a chance to strike. But that chance would not come. Cosmo was relentless in his assault, making sure to not leave too long of an interval between attacks. The Sinow Zoa soon fell to its knees, and with a short burst of energy, it exploded, with parts skittering across the steel grating. The HUcast's sabers automatically retracted themselves back into the position they used to have on the Grass Assassin they were once attached to. This isn't going to be very easy, thought Cosmo. I'd better keep going, or Sunblast might get caught. I wonder how he's doing...

With deliberate care not to make extra noise, Sunblast continues to slowly crawl through the ventilation ducts. They had gotten bigger as he moved deeper, but there still wasn't enough space to stand. His twin mags, Bhirava, kept the area lit. They also kept chattering anxiously. They had been raised with direct combat in mind, and all this sneaking around was starting to make them nervous.
"Come on guys, just a little further," Sunblast said, soothingly. "We're almost right on top of it."
Sunblast crawled another meter, and he came up upon a vent with a view of the Olga terminal. Using his Varista, he burned each screw until the vent's cover fell to the floor. He slowly lowered himself out of it, holding onto the edge of the vent. He let go and dropped to the floor with a loud CLANG. He stood up quickly, scanning the room with his Varista at the ready. Once he was sure the room was safe, he proceeded to the terminal. He turned it on, then withdrew a purple disc and inserted it into the terminal. The screen came up with a dull glow. He quickly browsed through the data banks, looking for the info he needed. Once he found it, he started the download. Wow, he thought. This file is huge! The place must have, like, 20 stories! Once it finished, he removed the disc and walked back to the area of floor under the vent. Looking up, he remembered how he got down.
"Oh, crap," he muttered. "I really, really wish I had brought a rope. Or maybe a grappling hook. Ah, jeez…"
He pressed a button on his wrist and looked over the map it projected, then he head through the nearest door and into a dark corridor. He pressed another button oh his wrist to activate his BEE system.
"Cosmo, I have the data. I might take a little while due to an, umm, unexpected setback. Meet me back at the transporter soon. See ya there, man."
He ended the message and sent it. With a sigh, he turned towards the dark corridor. Varista in hand, he started down the shadowy path.

Chapter 4-The Great Escape
Looking like a crimson tornado, Cosmo twirls rapidly, hitting everything that dares get close to him. One by one, each of his enemies fall to the ground, joining their allies. He slows down, looking for the enemies that remain. A recon hops through the air towards him. One swing is all it takes to cause it to burst, spreading light across the walls of the room. Putting one of his G-Assassin Sabers in the holder on his back, he draws his Fill Autogun and let loose a line of photon on a recobox hidden high on the wall. It explodes, scattering debris as a small case of meseta drops towards the floor. Cosmo extends his hand and catches the prize with his metal gauntlet.
A new signal reaches him with a loud beep. Hmmm, he thinks. I've got mail. Summoning it forth from his data banks, the message is opened. It's from Sunblast. He puts his weapons away, then opens the file and listens to the recording.
"Cosmo, I have the data," says the RAmar's voice. "I might take a little while due to an, umm, unexpected setback. Meet me back at the transporter soon. See ya there, man."
Unexpected setback?
Cosmo set his own recording and, with his synthetic voice, spoke into the microphone.
"You forgot the rope, didn't you?"
Cosmo sent the message, chuckling to himself. Well, I'd better start back. Perhaps if I take the path to the Olga Terminal, we can bust out of here together. He looked over his map. I just have to pass through one big room, and we should meet up. Closing down his map and drawing his dual sabers, he walks through the door and down the hallway to meet up with his partner.

Stalking through the lightless corridor, Sunblast could just barely see the outline of a dolmolm just a meter in front of him. He moved towards it slowly, raised his Varista to its head, then pulled the trigger with satisfaction. He reaches forward to catch the body and lower it to the ground. Man, I'm good, he thought to himself. I wish I could do this more often. His wrist rumbles twice; a silent way of telling him that he had received a message. He puts his gloved hand to his ear to help him hear the message Cosmo had sent him. His eyes widen behind the yellow ocular covers of his mask.
"That son of a--" he started, catching himself midsentance. His eyes darted, looking for anything that may have heard him. Once he decided it was safe, he checked his map. Cosmo was close. He moved with greater speed than before. I'm on my way, he promised mentally.

Cosmo was close to his friend, now. The room was dimly lit, and it was filled to knee level with chilling water. Luckily, he couldn't shiver if he wanted to. He could see sensors scanning areas of the floor for intruders like himself. They look like red laser fences, and they are hooked directly to the security system for the whole facility. Touch one, and all kinds of automated-defense-hell breaks loose. Fortunately, Cosmo's no klutz. He weaved between the beams and kept moving in the direction of Sunblast's signal. Once he reached the middle of the room, his sabers instinctively drew themselves to attack positions. Why am I not surprised?
He spun to meet his enemies. More squids. No problem. He took a step towards them, but he was going backwards. He regained his footing, only to fly back again. He stood up again, and saw the red droid forming in front of him. It swung another giant, pile-driving fist into his torso, and his feet left the floor. He flew backwards. Right through a security sensor.

Red lights flashed rapidly. The corridor lit by the scarlet glow of the sirens, and the shrill sound of every alarm on the floor and then some going off in near unison.
"Oh no," Sunblast uttered. "Cosmo. Cosmo!"
Discarding all grace and stealth, Sunblast made a mad dash down the hallway.

Chapter 5-Looks Like the End of a Beautiful Friendship
Cosmo leapt up from the water and, with precision and timing only an android could muster, sliced through the incendiary traps that rose from the floor. Their top halves hit the water before they could even warm up. Cosmo turned his attention to the red Sinow bearing down on him. It swung its huge fist at him once more, but this time it met the protective barrier of Cosmo's shield. The HUcast ducked under the arm and ran up to his foe, slicing at its chest. He only left scratches. Then he aimed for the beast's head with both sabers, but before they could reach the shiny glass visor, the robot grabbed the sabers with one hand and smacked Cosmo back with the other. It tossed the blades behind itself, then let loose a sound that could only be interpreted as a cackle.
Cosmo turned to a crate and kicked it open, and it left him a regular saber. Perfect, he thought. Well, it's better than nothing. He raised the saber to eye level, hoping to intimidate the mechanical abomination with his glare, or at least the squids behind him. What are they waiting for? The Sinow laughed again, then started towards Cosmo.
Cosmo sprang at the Sinow, catching it off guard, and jammed the saber straight into its chest. It let out a screech, which was caused more by surprise than real pain. Cosmo stressed his mechanical muscles and pushed the saber under him, looking like a gymnast as he did so, and brought his visual receptors to the robot's visor. Then he lifted his legs to the robot's head and, with liquid grace, kicked the visor to launch himself into a back flip. He landed on his feet and look up just in time to see the visor crack and fall apart. One red lens stared back at Cosmo through where the visor used to be. It shook for a second as an electrical surge went through its body, but instead of falling to its knees, it leapt back behind the three squids. They advanced towards Cosmo, flailing their bladed tentacles. He calmly drew his Seize Breaker, another gift from Sunblast. I've got to stop letting him give me stuff. He swung the sword in a figure eight pattern in front of himself, then brought it to a rest on his right shoulder, holding it like a baseball bat, then he gestured to squids. "Bring it on," he declared.

Sunblast was almost out of breath when he reached the door leading into the next big room. When he opened it, he saw Cosmo slicing through three squids, one by one, with a large sword. He noticed a glint of light in the water. Cosmo's sabers, he concluded. But what are they doing down there? He shrugged, drawing his Varista and walking down into the ice-cold water.
Once he was knee-deep in the water, a teleportation activated a few feet in front of him. He would have had to look away from the bright light of the teleportation if his mask's lenses hadn't instantly polarized themselves in response to the light. He raised his Varista at the light, ready to make a preemptive strike, but he was shocked when he found his sights on a Delbiter. Oh no, he panicked. Not that. Not that! He fired three times before the dog-like monster ran him over. When he got up, he glanced towards his partner, only to see a chilling scene. Cosmo had the squids almost beaten, but behind him, a large Sinow Zele raised its fists, clasped them together, then let them fall as a double-fisted swing to Cosmo's head and knocking Cosmo down under the shallow water.
"Cosmo!" screamed Sunblast. He raised his Varista and aimed straight for the red, exposed camera that looked back at him. But as he squeezed the trigger, he felt a blow to his spine and he fell to his knees. His shot harmlessly hit a stone pillar.
From beneath the cold water, he saw the Sinow Zele fading from sight. In only a moment, it was gone. Realizing he was out of air, Sunblast rose out of the water. He shook his head, leaving spots of water on the walls around him. Then he ran at the Delbiter. The Delbiter charged at him as well. As they met, the Delbiter opened its jaw, going for Sunblast's leg to immobilize him. But instead, the leg rose above the Delbiter's head, and so did the foot. Before the Delbiter realized it, Sunblast was pushing off of the Delbiter's head as he flew into the air. Sunblast was upside down, now. He fired a nearly continuous stream of photon at the Delbiter. For what seemed like forever, he floated through the air, firing shot after shot into the dark beast. Then the stream stopped. He had depleted the Varista's power supply. Luckily, it was just enough to end the existence of the foul beast. He landed on his feet, almost slipping on the landing, but he caught himself. As the Delbiter turned to purple mist and disappeared, Sunblast holstered his Varista, drew his Gush Launcher, and turned to meet the last of his attackers. He fired, taking the already-weakened monsters with only one blast.
He dropped his weapon and ran sluggishly through the water to Cosmo. As soon as he got to Cosmo, he cast Resta. Strangely, the white light he produced only enveloped him. He cast it again, and once more Cosmo failed to rise and thank him. Sunblast dropped down and turned the android over. He stared at him, seeing the BLUEULL ID was no longer lit. Then it came to him. Cosmo was gone.
No, he thought to himself. He can't. He just can't, it's impossible. I just gotta get him to Pioneer 2, and everything will be okay. Yeah, everything will be okay.
He tried to blink back the tears, realizing his own lie. He pulled down his mask to keep the lenses from filling with liquid. He saw his reflection in the water over Cosmo's face. His eyes were a beautiful shade of sapphire. People had been telling him that all his life, but he just denied it out of embarrassment. Then he started wearing the mask he had made himself, and the comments just stopped.
He looked himself over, then rose to get his Gush Launcher and Cosmo's Grass Assassin Sabers. He brought them over and laid them on Cosmo. He stood and thrust his arm out in front of himself. "Ryuker," he said. But nothing happened. "Ryuker!" Nothing. "RYUKER!" he screamed. But nothing happened. No circle of light, no gentle humming sound, no feeling of home. He couldn't concentrate. He sighed and pulled a telepipe from his pocket, then dropped it to the floor. It opened up to create his passage back to Pioneer 2. He pulled his mask up, transferred the Gush Launcher and G-Assassin Sabers to his inventory, then he picked up Cosmo's cold, heavy body. He walked into the light and went back to Pioneer 2.

Chapter 6-Returning "Victorious"
As soon as Sunblast's boot hit the steel floor of Pioneer 2's observation deck, he was running. Cosmo was heavy, but Sunblast had more than enough adrenaline running through him to handle the burden. He ran through groups of people, who gave him frightened looks. He went up the ramp, rushed up to the smiling nurse, and dropped Cosmo right on the counter.
"Oh, my!" exclaimed the nurse. "What happened?" Sunblast could only look at her with a growl from low in his throat. She cringed, then pressed a button on the counter. "Doctor, we need to here immediately. We have an emergency!"

Sunblast fidgeted on the cold stool he had set next to Cosmo's bed. There was a large generator on a cart hooked up to Cosmo, but even with that the voltmeter was getting no reading. Sunblast looked at the floor, recalling what all had just happened. They had taken Cosmo to the main hospital in hopes of saving him. Someone had offered to go to the Hunter's Guild and drop off Sunblast's disk for him. He remembers accepting. At least his sacrifice wasn't in vain, he thought to himself. The doctor had already told him there was nothing he could do. So did the nurses. But he begged them to try, so they did. They were humoring him. They were trying to let him down easily. They were giving him false hope. But he already knew what every employee in the hospital had told him. It was over, and there's nothing anyone could do.
He sighed as he heard the sound of another nurse approaching. He looked up, expecting to hear the final verdict, but instead of a Newman nurse, there was a pink RAcaseal standing there in the doorway.
"Sunblast?" she asked. "Sunblast, are you alright? I came as soon as I heard."
Elenor, he reminded himself. He had known her well from many missions they had undertaken together, but he could still only regard her with a cold stare.
"Dr. Montague would have come, but the guards wouldn't let him. He tried his best to be here. He even punched one of the guards. I've never seem him like that."
She waited for a response, then she dragged a stool of her own next to Sunblast and sat down.
"Look, I know it hurts, but acting this way isn't going to help. Look at the bright side."
"What bright side?" he finally replied.
"Well, for one thing, his head-wang is still in one piece."
Sunblast coughed a few times, then he stopped, holding it in.
"See? You laughed! Come on, now!"
He shook his head. "No, that was a cough. I think I'm getting a cold. Maybe even hypothermia."
"Well, then change out of those clothes! They're soaking wet!"
"No, I can't. What if something happened to Cosmo while I'm gone? What if they try to take him away? What if he woke up?"
Elenor let out a synthetic sigh of concern. "Sunblast, I don't think..." she started. She looked at Sunblast, and she forced a smile. "Sunblast, how about I watch him for a while? I promise I'll take great care of him. Okay?"
Sunblast paused before nodding slowly.
"Okay, you get down to the dressing room. I'll contact you if there's any change in his condition."
Sunblast rose from his stool and walked out of the room with his eyes glued to the floor. As he closed the door behind him, he was met by the doctor that had examined Cosmo, as well as a nurse.
"Excuse me, sir," the nurse said. "We've received a large sum of money from the Hunter's Guild." She held out a box containing 5,000 meseta, but Sunblast shook his head.
"No, you keep it," he muttered.
"But sir, this is far too much--" she started.
"Just keep it!" he yelled. He glanced around, realizing he was suddenly the center of attention for the waiting room. He turned back towards the nurse, then said in a quiet voice, "Look, I just don't want it. Keep it. Donate it to a charity if you want. It doesn't matter." He walked past them, but the doctor put his hand on Sunblast's shoulder.
"Wait. There's nothing we can do, but maybe you can do something."
Sunblast's eyes went wide. "What? What is it? I'll do anything, just tell me!" The people in the waiting room were staring again, but Sunblast didn't notice.
"Well, I have an old buddy who used to work here. His specialty was androids. He quit, but he's still into machines. Now he sells android parts, new and used." The doctor handed him a card with a name, address, and logo on it. "The patient has not only lost his CPU, but all his systems were friend when he died. It will be difficult and costly, but if anyone can help you get your friend back, it's him."
Sunblast nodded to the doctor, then he left the hospital and went home.

Chapter 7-A Familiar Face
When Sunblast reached the clothes store, his eyes were drawn to the large sign. It told of a sale that was currently taking place. RAmar clothing costs... 10,000 meseta! Bah, forget that. I'll just get one of my old ones for now. As he turned to walk away, he looked at the other prices on the sign. HUnewearl outfits only cost 5,000 meseta. Half the clothes, half the price. He chuckled to himself, and then headed for the teleporter that led to his home in the residential district.
He entered in the address, and then he was teleported to his doorstep. The small scanner hidden above the doorframe scanned his PURPLENUM Section ID and confirmed his identity. The door opened automatically and he entered his shelter. As the door closed, the speaker system began to play music from Sunblast's favorite band from back on Coral. He strode quickly over to the control unit and shut it off. I'm not in the mood, he brooded.
He opened his closet, looking over the nine identical purple and black uniforms, as well as one bright golden suit, which he wore for a short period to celebrate the defeat of Dark Falz. He randomly chose one of the purple suits and changed into it, leaving on the floor right next to the hamper.
He went to the door, but stopped before opening it. He could hear a voice from outside the door. He turned on the security monitor next to the door and set it to receive feed from the scanner on the outside. The screen was filled with the sight of a young RAmarl in a military uniform. She had her hair in many long braids reaching past her shoulders. Her hair looked black, but on close inspection it was actually very, very dark viridian. Her skin was pale, and he had red eyes, possibly from the use of contact lenses. She looks like a zombie, he thought to himself. She smiled, showing her teeth, and for just a moment he thought he could see fangs. Luckily, that was just an illusion. He looked to her uniform, which was purple and black, similar to his own. She was wearing tipless gloves, which showed unpainted nails. Her pants had a camouflaged pattern of black and white. On her head rested a slanted, red beret with a unique design on it. Sunblast scanned her REDRIA ID and viewed the data in a picture-in-picture screen.

Zoe? He wondered. Is that really you? His thoughts were interrupted when Zero knocked on his door. He quickly shut down the glowing display and straightened out his suit. He took a deep breath, then gave the command to open the door. As soon as it opened, Zero's eyes went wide with joy.
"Sunny B!" she exclaimed. "I can't believe I finally found you!"
Sunblast blushed underneath his mask. He hadn't been called that since he was in elementary school. "Hey Zoe. I can't believe you found me either."
She punched his chest plate. "Don't call me that! My name's Zero now. They let me choose it when I registered to be a hunter."
"A hunter? But I thought you wanted to join the military? And your clothes..."
"Well, yeah, I tried to join them. In fact, I'm fully trained now. I just never graduated."
"Why not?"
"Well you know how there's a "standard haircut" that military personnel are required to have?"
"Yeah."
"Well, when they tried to cut my hair, I kinda broke the barber's arm."
"Zoe!"
"What? Did you really expect me to let this look die?"
"Looks like it already has."
"Hehe, yeah, I know. I was kinda going for that look."
"Well, ya nailed it." He smiled at her. "We've got a lot of catching up to do, but I gotta keep moving. You can tag along if you want."
"Sure! Where to?"
"The hospital."
"The hospital?"
"Did I say hospital? Sorry, I meant the morgue. We'll get you a place to stay." She swung and hit him in the arm. "Owww, jeez, I was just kidding! But seriously, I've gotta get to the hospital. Come on, let's go!"
He started towards the teleporter at a brisk pace. Zero gave him an amused look, then ran to catch up with him. "Hey! Wait for me!"

Chapter 8-Shopping
"So, you still seem to have your obsession with purple," Zero said to Sunblast.
"Hey, you're still wearing purple!" he retorted.
"Well, yeah, but I look good in it!"
Sunblast was half-tempted to shove her into two passing FOmars, but he thought better of it.
"So, you're a military drop-out. How'd you keep the uniform?"
"They let me have it. Except for the beret," she said, pointing to it. "They made me pay for it, and they totally gouged me."
"Ah, I see. Well, have you done anything in your new job?"
"Not yet. I came to find you first."
"Awww, still looking up to your older cousin?"
He ducked the upcoming punch to Zero's surprise. "What makes you think I ever looked up to you?"
"Well, you're a hunter now, just like me. You wear purple, just like me. And you're obviously a nut job."
"Just like you?"
"I never said that."
"You're calling me a nut job? What about the time when uncle Tim got his new hunting rifle, and you just had to go and--"
"Hey, we're to the teleporter! Come on, let's go!"

Sunblast went through immediately and Zero followed suit shortly after. They arrived near the hospital and walked to Cosmo's room. As Sunblast entered, Elenor looked up at him and shook her head.
Zero looked at Cosmo and asked, "Who's that?"
"That's Cosmo. He is--he was my partner." He walked over to the bed and touched Cosmo's steel hand. "He's dead."
Zero looked shocked. "Oh no. Oh no, I'm sorry, Sunblast. I didn't mean to..." She trailed off and just stared at the floor.
"No, you didn't know." He breathed a deep sigh, then turned towards Elenor and said, "I'm going to take him out of here. Thanks for your help."
"Think nothing of it, Sunblast," she said while standing up. "I'm sorry for your loss. I have to get back to work now. I wish you the best of luck." She walked past Sunblast, nodded to Zero, and then left the room.
Sunblast clenched his fist, feeling his eyes tear up again. Then he remembered the card the doctor had given him. He pulled it from his pocket and looked it over. Nothing can ever bring back Cosmo, he brooded. But I can't just do nothing.
"Come on, Zero," he said, lifting Cosmo over his shoulder.
"Hey, you called me Zero!" she said excitedly. "Wait, where are we going?"
He grinned at her. "We're going shopping."

Sunblast and Zero approached the machine shop in a rundown area of Pioneer 2 with Cosmo still slung over Sunblast's shoulder.
"...then I'm gonna get some more hair dye, my custom color, of course, then I'm gonna get a new pair of purple high heels, then I'm gonna get a shiny new BEE system, then..." Zero continued. Sunblast kept nodding his head until he stopped at the door to the shop. Once Zero noticed Sunblast had stopped, she looked over the machine shop. "Wait a minute, you said we were going shopping! You suck!" Sunblast walked through the door with Cosmo, ignoring Zero's threats.
Once inside, Sunblast took a moment to let his eyes adjust to the poorly lit shop, which was considerably darker than the outside. Once he regained his vision, he could see piles of machinery all over the place. At the sales counter, there was a burly, greasy man tinkering with a small device, covered in blinking diodes. Sunblast approached him and put Cosmo in a slumped position against the counter.
"Umm, excuse me?" he inquired.
The man dropped the device and looked up at Sunblast. "What? What do you want? This had better be important!"
"Umm, are you," Sunblast looked at the card in his hand. "Wally Ableman?"
"Yeah, that's me. Just call me Wally."
"OK, well, I really need your help."
Wally looked over Sunblast's armor. "Yeah, I'll say."
Ignoring the comment, Sunblast continued. "I have an android here, and he was killed in battle. The doctor said his CPU was destroyed, and that his systems burned out as he died. Can you help me?"
The man regarded Sunblast for a moment, then said, "OK, pal, let me tell you something. Your friend didn't die. He was never alive. He's just a machine, and you should try to get over it."
Sunblast's hidden face flushed with anger. "He's my friend."
"He was your friend," the man said with a cruel grin.
Sunblast gritted his teeth, then spoke through them. "Alright, fine. Can you fix him?"
Wally pulled Cosmo onto the counter with help from Sunblast. He examined Cosmo for a couple of minutes, then said, "Alright, here's how it is. There's no way to actually restore him. The best I can do is put in a new CPU. He's not going to have any of his past memories, so you'll have to reteach him everything. But that's not the tricky part. I'm gonna have to replace everything else, too. It'll be like starting again from Level 1. He's only going to be the same in appearance, and he'll be the same in name, if you choose to keep it. You sure you want to do this?"
Sunblast absorbed all that the man had said. Like starting again from level 1, he thought. He'll be back, but there's no way I can train with him. He'll never survive in my hangouts, and I can't stand around and watch him in the Forest for the next month. He looked down at the floor, then he heard a sound behind him. He turned to see Zero tapping her foot impatiently. Wait, that's it! Zero could work with him! Wally noticed Sunblast's mood brighten.
"Mmhmm. I'll take that as a yes." He grabbed a tool and tried to look like he had already started. "This is gonna be costly. You got money?"
"Yes, yes of course."
"Alright. It's gonna cost you 1,000,000 meseta. Upfront."
Sunblast pulled out all the money in his pocket, but he was a few thousand short. "Uhh, Zero?" he said, pleadingly. "Could ya spot me some cash?"
"What?!" she screamed. "I was saving this for when I became a hunter!"
"I know, I know. But it's for a good cause. Besides, I'll give you some stuff to get you started. I promise they'll be worth way more than you have.
She scowled for a bit, then sighed and handed him the yellow box. "You'd better keep your promise," she threatened.
"Don't worry," he said with a smile. "I will." He turned back to Wally and gave him both the boxes.
"Alright, this sort of thing would normally take a month, but since you care so much for him, I'll burn the midnight oil and have him done tomorrow, OK?"
"Wow, that's great! Thank you so much! But wait, the stuff you said earlier, about him just being a machine. Why did you change your mind?"
"Well, the truth is, he is just a machine. But I once cared for an android. She was a beautiful Pink android. A RAcaseal, if I remember correctly. But it wasn't meant to be. She already had a crush on someone. By the light, I miss her." He stopped and took a deep breath. "There'll be another. Heck, I might even build her myself. But I don't think I'll ever feel exactly the same about an android again."
"Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. But you're right. There will be another. You're too good of a guy for there not to be." In a reflection on a monitor, Sunblast could see Zero stick out her tongue. Fortunately, Wally didn't see it.
"Yeah, but just about no one knows about my operation. It'll take months for one to show up."
"Crap, you're right. Hey, if you have any more of those cards, I'll hand them out to any caseals I see. You just gotta get the word out. Then you'll be Mr. Popularity, I guarantee it."
"Hehe, ya really think so? Well, I haven't had any of those cards in a long time." He brought his BEE system up on an old monitor. "I'll order some while I work on your buddy. But you'd better hand them out."
Sunblast smiled at his new friend. "I will, I will. We'll see you tomorrow."
Sunblast grabbed Zero by the arm and turned her towards the door before Wally could see any more of her funny faces. Before he went through the door, he turned back to Wally.
"Hey, umm, when you're getting his new CPU, ya think you ould put in a humor chip?"
Wally nodded, then Sunblast left the shop.

Chapter 9-The Million Meseta Man
Sunblast awoke in his bed to a series of loud sounds. He looked at the alarm chrono near his bed, but it was silent. The sound was coming from the door. He got up, leaving his bed to be made at a later time, and checked who was at the door. Zero was standing there, still clad in her purple uniform, hitting the door with her fist. He donned his armor and mask at the press of a button, and then he opened the door.
"Jeez, Sunblast!" said Zero in an impatient tone. "You've been asleep all morning!"
"It's only @509 beats," he replied sleepily. "What are you doing up so early?"
"We gotta run down to that repair place and check on Cosmo, remember?"
Sunblast flinched. Cosmo, he remembered. How could I forget about that? "Yeah, you're right. Still kinda early. He might not be fully repaired yet. Are you sure your military training hasn't gotten the best of you?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure. Now, come on!"
She grabbed his arm and dragged him out of his door. Once he broke free from her grasp, he started to run on his own power. They both raced back to the seedy area of the ship, and they stopped upon reaching the machine shop. Sunblast walked in first to see that the shop was now well lit, and Wally was at the counter, smiling. He had dressed up considerably from his former attire.
"Welcome back!" he yelled to the pair entering his shop. "Your friend us up and running, and I've taken the liberty of downloading some information into him about you and the old Cosmo."
"Thanks for bringing him up to speed, Wally," Sunblast said sincerely. "By the way, where is he now?"
Wally smiled and nodded. Sunblast looked behind himself to see cosmo popping out from behind a pile of machien parts.
"Sunblast!" Cosmo yelled in a robotic voice.
"Cosmo!"
They collided in a hug, with Sunblast being crushed by Cosmo's metallic might.
"Umm, Wally?" Sunblast asked. "Any chance you made him a little stronger?"
"Yeah," he replied. "I pretty much buffed up his arms. He's got arms like a Hildebear, now. You like?"
"Definitely," Sunblast said, breaking out of Cosmo's grip. "But I wish you had warned me about it, first."
"Okay, guys. I'm getting bored!" Zero broke in. "Let's go hunting!"
Cosmo looked around Sunblast and noticed Zero.
"Well, hello!" Cosmo said. "Looks like you've been getting' some, eh, Sunblast?"
Zero looked shocked. Sunblast quickly pulled Cosmo near him and said, "Dude, she's my cousin!"
Cosmo looked confused for a moment, but then he said in a sleazy tone, "So, she's single then, eh?" He elbowed Sunblast twice, who only stared at him in disbelief. "Eh, eh?" he said with two more elbows.
"Why, you ill-mannered sack of crap!" screamed Zero. She grabebd a pipe from a pile of junk and she took a swing at Cosmo, but he jumped back just in time. Sunblast grabbed the pipe and tried to calm them both down.
"Whoa, guys! Let's just... whoa! OK. Let's go hunting. Mabye that'll calm our nerves."
"Fine," Zero conceded, dropping the pipe back on the pile.
"Hey Sunblast?" asked Wally. "I got those cards. You still willing to hand them out?"
"Of course," he replied. Walley handed them to Sunblast, who put them in his pocket. "I'll hand them out to every android I see."
"And remember to, umm, give some to, ahh, you know, female androids," he said, nervously.
Sunblast could only chuckle. "Yes, I will. By the way, I like what you did with the place. You'll be raking in the yellow in no time."
"Thanks," Wally said with a grin. "Good luck!"
"You too!" Sunblast yelled back as he walked out the door with his two friends arguing about something or another.

Chapter 10-Gifts From Sunblast
The trio stopped at the checkroom before heading to the teleporter. Sunblast spoke to the woman at the counter, and she gave him a few boxes. He turned to the other two.
"Zero? I told you I'd pay you back with items, so here you go."
Sunblast handed her boxes containing his Gush Launcher, a Varista he found recently, his mag, some basic healing and other supplies, and a large sum of money. Her eyes went wide when she saw the large bounty before her.
"Oh, my," she stuttered. "Sunblast, this stuff is amazing! I'm honored that you've chosen to give it to me, but I don't think I can take some of these from you. I mean, your Varista? Your Shot? And your mag?!"
"Don't worry about it. That's a Varista, not my Varista. I'd never give up my baby." Sunblast winked at her, then continued. "You can have the Gush launcher. I need to get out and find myself a new shot so I can really do some damage. Right now, that thing will help you way more than it'll help me. And Bhirava is very powerful. He could get you very far in this world. In his absence, I'll start training this guy." Sunblast held out two yellow mags known as Kalki. "His name is Tails. I found him on a quest, but I never got around to raising him past his baby stage. Now we'll have tons of time."
Sunblast turned to Cosmo, and he reached deep into his pockets. He pulled forth a red box and, with some difficulty, gave it to Cosmo. "Cos? That's your Grass Assassin Sabers. I know you can't use them until you regain your strength, but just in case I'm not around when it happens, you'll be ready."
Zero touched Sunblast's shoulder to get his attention. "What do you mean you might not be around?"
"Well, I might be on a mission or something, that's all," he reassured her.
She seemed satisfied by his answer, then she asked, "Hey, where are we going?"
"Well," he replied. "The forest is the place for you guys. The monsters there may seem a bit challenging, but you'll get the hang of it."
"Alright, let's go!" she said, grabbing Cosmo's arm. She had run a few meters when she realized Sunblast was still at the checkroom. "Come on, Sunny B! Move your butt!"
"Naw, you guys go ahead. You won't learn anything if I'm there to save you guys every time. Besides, I've got something to do. Just go on, and take some of 'em down for me."
Zero stared curiously at Sunblast for a moment. She knows, thought Sunblast. Then Zero shrugged and ran towards the teleporter.
"C'mon, Cosmo!" she yelled at the android. "Move your tin can!"
Sunblast smiled at them as they ran off towards their destination, then he burst out laughing as Cosmo shoved Zero into a group of FOmars. Hehe, he thought. That's my boy. The strangest looking of the FOmars looked angry. He was a PINKAL FOmar in a Green robe, which was pretty short for a FOmar. He also had on a green headdress and a veil to match. Sunblast knew him. He owed Sunblast money.
"Hey guys," the Force called to Zero and Cosmo in a disturbingly light tone. "That's not cool. That's not cool at all." The Force chases after the other two and follows them into the teleporter.
Sunblast smiled at the scene, then his mind returned to his current situation. He had given up his worldly possessions, he had kept one gun for himself, and now he was alone. You never know what you have, he thought, until it's gone. Gone.
Gone.
He looked at the power pack on his Varista. Just enough, he thought. He slowly raised the gun up and closed his eyes, but they fluttered back open when he heard a series of crashes. He saw the two mags that made up Tails fighting each other for no apparent reason. He separated them and guided each to separate positions over his shoulders. He pondered his situation for a moment, then he ejected the power pack in his Varista and put a new one in. I'm not out yet. There's still one loose end from all of this.
He turned to the telepipe he had created by way of Ryuker. It seems like an eternity since he had created it, but it was still there. He walked into it, and was sent down to Ragol as the beam of light closed behind him.

Did anyone catch what I was talking about earlier? It's pretty obvious, I think, but I wrote it, so I can't be sure. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Chapter 11-Vengence
Sunblast appeared in a dimly lit room. It was fairly large with a shallow pool of water in the middle. He could see the blood from the battle that happened not so long ago. His mags shuddered uneasily. Alright. All the monsters died in here. All but one. He held his Varista in the ready and started to walk the length of the room. He entered the water and felt the familiar cold seeping through his previously dry clothes. He waded through until he reached the end where he walked up to the door he had entered through. He turned around to look back upon the entire room, and he remembered everything that had happened. Looking down, he could see some sort of purple liquid, which was the remnant of his fight with a delbiter. It was all too familiar.
Sunblast woke from his thought when he heard a splash in the water. He looked up, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Then another splash. This time he saw the splash, and on closer inspection, he saw the water in front of the splash was red. He couldn't tell what was making the water red, as the ripples from the splash were distorting his view. Then he saw a transparent being appear for only a moment. It was right where the ripples were coming from, and it was huge. Sunblast's eyes widened, and he instinctively fired a shot at the ghostly image he had seen. It flew through the space he had aimed it at, until it came in contact with something. The ghostly image returned, only this time, it became solid. It was a Sinow Zele with its giant arms in front of its face. When it brought its arms down, it revealed its metallic face, which included the malevolent stare of a lone, red camera as its eye.
"You!" he screamed, bringing his Varista up to fire again. The Sinow was hit once more. He fired again, but the Sinow threw its arms out to the side. "Oh, no," he said. "You can't just hide from me this time." He fired at where the Sinow was at earlier, but the shot just sizzled in the water. What? He thought. But he was just there! And he hasn't splashed any more water. It was then that Sunblast realized the water no longer held the red reflection of his enemy.
He turned just in time to see a large, red fist coming at him. The robot grabbed his Varista and threw it behind him. The droid laughed while staring deep into Sunblast's soul with its chilling red lens that acted as its eye. Sunblast panicked and kicked at the Sinow. He got a lucky shot, as his foot kicked the hilt of a saber that was stuck in the big droid's chest. His kick moved the saber deeper into its chest, and he was rewarded with the sound of sizzling wires and the sight of a small energy surge passing through it. Sunblast smiled, but it wasn't down just yet.
Sunblast leapt back from the Sinow by a few feet, just in time to dodge the swing it made. He grabbed the spiked object on his left thigh, opposite of where he kept his Varista. He pulled out the handle and held it in front of him, with the spikes pointing to the left and the right. He hit the activation switch, and the room was lit by the crimson glow of the double blades of pure photon power. He slowly brought it behind him in his right hand, bent his knees a little, then, with his left hand, told the Sinow to, "Come get some."
The robot quickly reacted to Sunblast's taunt, and was met by Sunblast's first strike with his Stag Cutlery. Sunblast was twirling with a technique that he had practiced ever since he found the weapon. First he hit the beast by spinning his whole body with the blades, but the Sinow knew it was coming and blocked both of the searing slashes. Just as it lowered its defense to strike, Sunblast brought the closest blade into an uppercut, slicing a sparking hole through the chest of the Sinow Zele. Sunblast went for a dramatic finish by twirling the saber in his right hand, slicing through both of the Sinow's knees. He then brought the saber back behind him, and returned to the pose in which he started. He stood there as the great machine fell, its legs separating at the knees. It tried to hold itself up with its hands, but it didn't matter. It was already overloading from the damage. It looked up to take one last look at the hunter that had defeated it. Its "eye" was only inches from Sunblast's hand. Then it saw no more as it was consumed in flames.
Sunblast stood there for a moment, looking at the wreckage. It was spread all through the room, and Sunblast felt sure the beast was finally vanquished. He deactivated his Stag Cutlery and returned it to its holder. He walked to pick up his Varista, which he returned to its holster on his right thigh. He smiled, admiring his work, then he walked back over the wreckage, but he tripped over something. He looked down to see what it was, hoping the machine hadn't been armed with Dubchic technology, only to see he had stumbled on a red box. With glee, he picked it up and scanned it with the device on his left wrist. He read the small display to find out what he had received, and learned it was a special weapon of the saber class.
He put it in his inventory and called forth a telepipe with Ryuker. He passed through the passage of blue light and appeared on the deck of Pioneer 2. The tekker identified the saber for him, and he was ecstatic when he heard the results.
"It's an Agito," said the overweight tekker. "Specifically, it’s the AUW 1991 Model. Quite a nice one if I do say so myself. Now, that'll be 100 meseta."
Sunblast paid the man and picked up his new weapon, only to deposit it into the checkroom. I'll give it to Cosmo, once he's strong enough, he thought. He walked back out of the shopping area just in time to see Zero and Cosmo coming back from their adventure. They had the sea-spray green force from earlier, who was nagging the other two for fluids.
"Come on, guys," he said in his laughable voice. "You know I'm good for it! Besides, I saved you guys back there. I had to blast that dragon with Foie, or else you'd all be dead!"
"Would you just stop?" yelled Zero. "That one little Foie didn't do squat to him! It was all Cosmo and I. Besides, we still had to use a moon atomizer to save your hide."
"Oh, like I was supposed to know he was gonna go underground!"
Zero just shook her head, and then she spotted Sunblast and ran up to him.
"Hey Sunny B," she said to him. "We had tons of fun, and these weapons you gave me rock! Did you miss me?"
Sunblast chuckled to himself before responding. "Yeah, yeah, I missed ya. I've had nothing to kill but time since you guys left. Hey, how about I take you two to dinner? I'm buying! I know a place that makes awesome food, and the whole place is decorated to look just like Coral. It's great. And for Cosmo, they have a power buffet. All you can absorb!"
Cosmo started jumping up and down at the mention of the power buffet, and Zero smiled and said, "OK, sure! As long as you're paying."
The green FOmar approached and said, "Hey, can I come too? I saved these two back on Ragol."
Zero rolled her eyes. Sunblast raised his hand and rubbed his thumb against his index and middle fingers. The force recognized the signal for loan collection, and then he remembered just who Sunblast is.
"Oh, no, not you!" he screamed while running off, trying to avoid the imminent leg breaking from the purple loanshark.
The whole group laughed at him as he ran off, then they followed Sunblast to the restaurant, where they laughed at each other's stories of their lives and exploits, and then they laughed at Cosmo for a while.

That's it! Done at chapter 11 because I went bankrupt on ideas. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Naw, seriously, this story is over. It was lots of fun to make, though! I hope everyone liked it, and if I start another, it'll be after Episodes 1 & 2 and it'll have any of my friends that'd like to be in it. Although, I'm a bit worried about portraying someone wrong and being screwed for life. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif Anyway, how was this one?

*Sunblast bows to Mr. Rubbish.
Thank you very much. I hope to have another some time soon. It could take a while, though.

[blink] Complete?

Sunblast

Well, yeah, that was all I really had planned. Although I think I kinda screwed up the very end. Was it too short? I mean, this was supposed to be just about how Cosmo died and came back, and I wasn't going to cover anything new as this is almost like a prequel. You saw Sunblast getting Tails, which will grow to be a Sato with tons of power. He didn't have the actual Sato back then, so I showed it like that. And he gave up his shot to Zero, which is later replaced by a Chaos Arms. Get what I mean? Anyway, I'll make the next stroy better. I just hope I get around to it. I'll be in California for a while to visit my dad for CXhristmas, and when my brothers have the gamecube (we're getting new games http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif) I can type on the computer. I'll still have to decide who will be in it. It'll be hard, since I can't run too many characters at the same time or my mind will explode, but I also don't want to leave someone out and make a new enemy. You want in, right?

You could always just include Shake in one, you don't have to make him a standout character. A guast appearance would rock.

Well, a guest appearance would be pretty easy (Notice the green FOmar? That's Mriswith, my best friend's character and our team's charity case), but if you want to be a character, it wouldn't be too hard. We've just got to remember that Sunblast and Shake have never met (he's met Krowen in your fic), so this will be how they become good buddies. That puts a lot of pressure on me. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif If it's just a guest appearance, do you still want them to meet each other, or will it be just like, "Hehe, that hunter smacked the tekker. I wonder who that was?"
