a thread is a topic, and please...

read the forum rules (http://www.pso-world.com/faq.php?myfaq=yes&id_cat=9&categories=Forum) you will notice that (rule 14 i think, not sure) asking for cheats/exploitations is as bad as posting them, and piping is considered an exploit. (although i do it very often when im rare hunting)

I always thought piping was considered ok...?
Also, Ralf, do everyone a favor and spend some quality time getting to know the databases and guides. It would save you a lot of typing.

As I recall, piping is considered to be an accepted practice, as even if it does make it easier to find things, it still takes friggin' forever.

In a nutshell, Ralf, "piping" refers to the practice of repeatedly going back and forth between Ragol and Pioneer 2 using Telepipes/Ryuker, for the purpose of causing a rare monster to spawn in a room. It only works offline, but the general idea is that if you telepipe back and forth in a room full of Rappies, eventually, you'll inevitably find an Al Rappy.

Piping in EP1 (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=723)

Piping in EP2 (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=839)

It took me less than one minute, Ralf.

most members here are helpful, but some would just ignore a lazy post like this..

just as a question...how is piping a cheat?
i can see exploit, but its just as much of an exploit as equipping mst weapons for higher mst weapons "the force thing" ;/

It's an exploit of the way PSO works. However, the official guide to PSO states it as a trick, thus it is generaly accepted as such.
There is an argument on it being a cheat: The shop glitch is also the way PSO works. But the exploits of that are duping, multi-equiping and trade-stealing. And these are generaly considerd cheats.

Hmmm so piping is an exploit yet you go around mentioning this resta shield every other thread. I don't get it. A technique that St endorses VS a way of making yourself temporarily invinsable. I wonder which is more game damaging.

You forgot Gof of equip and max stats http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

And same goes for recoboxing http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif I hate people who do that. How can they have fun this way ? Where's the pride of having a high Lv char, now ? sad...

Hm, seems my list wasn't complete. Didn't intend to be complete, just to get the point across...

I don't hate ppl who pipe or recobox. I'v tried piping for a while to see how easy or hard it was. The verdict is it's sometimes easy and sometimes hard. But it's always boring.
I haven't tried recoboxing, but I think it's the same story: boring!
As for the results of it, I don't care about my lvl, I care about fun. If someone thinks of lvl as important and is willing to take the fun out of the game, he or she can recobox him/herself to hell and back. I know one gamer who recoboxed himself to lvl200. He hardly plays anymore. Guess the boredome got to him http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I do not hate people who pipe, nor do I resent those who dupe for backup or those who Photon Sphere their weapons.

But I do resent those who use the recobox trick http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif What you do not seem to get is that they use auto-fire function controllers and gain Lvs overnight http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif They can't even say they leveled their characers up.

Not quite. ST have specifically stated they do not see piping as an exploit, and they have not tried to fix it - ever, not since v1.

All the other actions you list, plus Recoboxing, are considered to be unfair by ST and hence they try to fix. them. Shame they can't do anything about the Recobox trick though, game design exploits are always the hardest to fix.
