I have a question about being banned (no, I don't want to be banned but rather the process). Like, do you get a PM stating you got a warning, and after so many (3 or 4) you finally get banned... or is there no formal system per say and you just have to check back in threads you posted in order to see whether or not you got a warning.

Also, is there anyway you can see how many warnings you have? I might have gotten one since my sig was like 43KB once instead of 35KB (approx.), but I just got a thing that said, "Sig too big" and i didn't remember getting a warning at all, and if I did I wasn't aware of it.

most times, you'll get an edit in your post stating that you have gotten a warning. we usually say hey enough, you have 2, cool it. that kind of thing. but there is no formal system because you should be responsible for your own behavior and we shouldn't have to make excuses for it.

there is no way, except to ask a mod if you're that concerned. sig warnings are completely different. we won't ban a person just because a sig is a bit too big. unless that sig has porn.

there are different warnings:

verbal warning: mod steps in and gives a warning to the warning

official warning: mod steps in and says something to the extent of

Don't post porn. You know better
+1 warning

the general is 3 official warnings, then you're out

they just ban your username.
if you come back, they'll ban your IP
if you come back, they'll call your ISP and get them to cancel your service because you harrassing a website

Sig warning:

Sig too big. Read Forum Rules
fix your sig, and you're okay. a sig warning is like a verbal warning. If you're very blatant about it, they will give you a official warning

I heard stories of people losing there Internet Service because of how they acted online. They should do it more often--might get rid of some of the idiots on the web.

hehe i'm refering to everyone online in general. I post at many forums and have run into many stupid idiots. My own forum, I had this one guy join and he was like "**** you all you all suck ****" then another guy joined and posted about 100 topics of spam, so, yeah, stupid people...the thing I want to know is what enjoyment people get from acting stupid.

...because they are insecure? Have no life?

It's amusing for me to watch when I see these gorms try to act so 'hard' in online communites, though.

i love going on to this site. i've met some really nice people. so would i try to be stupid just to be stupid? no (except in FKL http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif ) the people who are the stupidest are usually the ones who are most dependent. they become sheep lost from the flock </metaphor>
