Let's start off with Red Ring Rico. How the hell did she get into the Ruins if the ancient seal(totem poles) was still closed? Perhaps it was through the obvious hole in the plot, or I'm missing something.

The PSO PS prequel theory. I've developed this idea about how Ragol is Algo (notice the similarity in names)or whatever, and that PSO is actually a prequel to the phantasy star series. My evidence is that in the start menu splash screen, you see two other planets within proximity to Ragol. The only thing that disproves this is the fact that there are the item's like "Nei's claw" when in theory, she wouldn't even exist yet if PSO was a prequel. Perhaps the Pioneer ships went into a star-trek like time-loop, or this theory isn't true.

Red Ring Rico used a Sabre to do the "walk through walls" trick to get through the seal. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

But seriously, i've pondered the same thing at one time, but simply chalked it up to poor storyline development. PSO isn't about the storyline anyways, so it doesn't bother me in the least. If i wanted a storyline, i'd play any of the other PS games on my Mastersystem and Genny.

Your theory could indeed hold some merit regarding PSO being a prequel. And I offer an explination for the Nei's claw.......

...it in fact didn't belong to the Nei that we know, but rather to Neifirst. Since Neifirst was created before Nei, at one time she was simply known as Nei. In other words, no need to call her Neifirst if there was never any other Nei around, right? And since Newmans are a created species, mayhaps Nei(first) was around during the time of PSO, or shortly afterwards. And mayhaps these same scientists that are aboard the space ship constructed Mother Brain in order for Ragol to become better suited for humanoid life to inhabit it, and since Mother Brain is the one that created Nei(first).......

....sounds good to me. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif However, it just dawned on me that Algo is the name of the Star System in the PS world, not the name of one of the planets. DAMN!!! Back to the drawing board, eh? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

I thought about that too... but the Nu/Newmans didn't show up until Nei/Neifirst in PS2.

I think the idea is that this system is the new "seal" that keeps DF in check. Three planets on the old one (at first anyway), three planets on this one. This also fits with the Muut Ditts Poumn - Motavia Dezoris Palma thing.

This has been my biggest problem with PSO. Having played the first 4 as a kid, I'm struggling with how the latest installment could fit into the story I know.

Are Pioneer 1/2 World Ships from Palma? That might explain the abscence of the other species (The Cats, Motavians, Dezorians). Why then did the monsters tag along? Were they engineered by one of the many mad scientists aboard Pioneer 1 to make Ragol more like home?

Gosh... I wish I had the privilege to play the Phantasy Star games. Unlike Final Fantasy, the story is actually continuous, which is a major plus.

so... if red ring rico did the sabre trick to get thru the door, could we do the smae and not have to go abck and touch em?
