Excavation Reports???

I just noticed the "Excavation Reports" on this site. What does it mean by "laps" and "beats"??? I used the beat calculater and it said there are about 292 beats in 1 hour. But what does this mean??? does that mean i can just go into a stage wait for so many "beats"/time to go by then i'll see a rare enemy?

Can somebody explain this?

lap is the number of times going thru the same areas or quest

beat is the time system for pso

beat just is a time system pso uses..
the creator, i believe, is swatch..
