Asking for a friend (EU users please)

I have a friend over in England who wants to know if it matters what modem he buys. AKA, Will the one on Nintendo's site work? I told him I think it will, but I wanted to ask and be sure before he spent what I guess is about fifty pounds. x.x

Is he thinking of buying the modem from nontendos US site (nintendo.com) ?
if so they dont ship outside of their area (North America)
As for compatability, there shouldnt be any problems.

the UK based http://www.Videogameimports.com have both the modem and the BBA in stock in their hardware section for the gamecube, BBA ?42.99 modem ?27.99, it doesnt say weather or not there JAP/US or EU, but if you select any of those regions you should see them listed.
