Just got PSO for the Gamecube, got a lvl 17 HUcaseal, greennill.

Ive been reading the forums and guides for tips etc but still i would prefer some tips from more experienced players.

Should i keep my monogrinders, digrinders and trigrinders until i get a higher lvl weapon?

Do i have to do the quests before i can move to the next area aswell as killing the bosses? i killed de rol le earlier and i still cant get next area http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

i got a "defense up" item earlier and was wondering does it add to my base defence or would it add defence to the armour i wear? it is hard to tell with the explanation it gives lol

is it worth my while hunting for rare monsters? using telepipe trick or should i just consentrate on lvling and unlocking the harder modes?

any help is appreciated. thanks.

Thats up to you since grinders aren't rare

unlock other modes, you won't see any good rares until very hard and ultimate

any help is appreciated. thanks.

using the tp trick is only good from hard mode on and hard mode still isnt good check your section i.d. item finding guides and look what you can find and where and start hunting for it.

I would also reccomend trying a character with techniques (a non-android) 'cos they do make the game really fun.

If i were you i would save your grinders. Its kinda pointless to use them on non rare items (unless its a vulcan with 50% hit). Also, just keep playing and having fun. the telepipe trick isnt really worth it until very hard or ult.

In each area, there will be a pillar to activate. There is one in forest 2 and one in mines 2, and one in the caves (although I think there can be more variations here, so I cannot remember where that pillar is).

You must activate them all and then return to the door with the three seals and you can move on to the ruins. Don't forget to save after you activate the pillars and stuff...

So did I when the DC version first debuted. I kept thinking ruins was online only or something... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

The cool thing is, they changed the game in the Cube version. On the DC, you had to activate all the pillars during one run, meaning you went F1-M2 in one go and then opened the ruins. Now you can activate one of them at a time, and the game keeps track of it when you save.

Good luck in the ruins!

EDIT- you have to activate the pillars in every mode (normal, hard, very hard, ultimate) if you want to get to the ruins.

right ok the next question is..... when the ruins are activated the go yellow/orangy? .... so... what pillar is missing? coz i noticed that there was a red and blue "PSO" symbol on the door to the ruins. so im guessing that 2 are open, or 2 are yet to be opend.... and im standing at the red 1 in the forest as i type this lol and nothin hapns when i hit it.. so im guessing that when its flashing that its open.... so what 1 am i missing if my presumptions are right?

If its still glowing on the door then it is yet to be opened I believe.

I've never missed a pillar (mainly cos I'm curious and I go aruond screwing with every switch a see), but I do know if the pillar is flashing with lights, then it has been activated. I'm not sure which color cooresponds to which area though. Also, there are only 3 total pillars, one for each area prior to Ruins.

I remember the first time I saw Dark Falz, man hes huge! I looked on my mini map and he took up alot of space. But once it got down to it hes not that bad, you just got to get into the grove of it. Than again using DB's Sabre on easy Dark Falz makes things easy http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif.

I have fought him once but forgot to use a telepipe. It takes sooo long to get through the ruins when you are just starting out.

I would keep em. Ive kept so many on my FOnewm that if I felt like it, I could grind a weapon +8 (and the FOnewm is only lvl 11 or something)

Also, for the pillars, Im not really a huge expert, but if you see the pillar itself, flashing means activated, just a big pile of stone means you should hit A on it. Also, If youre searching for pillars, the pillar is always on lvl 2 (forest 2, caves 2, mines 2)

However, for the door, dont look at me http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
