Earthquake

maybe not as many of people would of died if they didnt do the process of making babies as much over there? hell i mean with how poor those places are..the more kids u have the more mouths too feed.Hell because of this their death toll could of been half that.

i thnk we should just drop a few bombs on all the major cities around the world (america included all you ignorant people) and see what happens. i think the world would be a little bit better off...

How about instead of attempting to post rude political or social commentary, we stick with reverence torwards the dead and whatever you feel is appropriate for the injured?

Not only were there massive casualties, but ancient landmarks were destroyed as well. =/ It's past the 72 hour mark by now, so some of the rescue teams are packing up and leaving. It's pretty horrible. Nature can still royally screw things up for us.

It is around 28,000, that is what I heard. Not only did alot of people die but in the city of Bam which was hit worst there were many historic sites, like the Arg-e-Bam citadel, which was leveled.

It could have been because of the building's poorly made stuctor. More likely,but it was a 6.6 earthquake so you could expect a lot of deaths.

No, it had to be the buildings. When California had its earthquake the other week it was a 6.6 too(I think, I know it was in the sixes) and only a few people died.

people who say nature hates the middle east...funnily enough you get earthquakes on plate boundaries. the middle east is on/near a plate boundary so you get earthquakes. its the same with LA and san francisco etc
and thats why the UK sees hardly any quake action. unfortuantwly, the midle east has lots of porrly built houses. that means high death toll. these countries shoudl be implementing as many anti-quake measures as possible

Iran is an oil-rich country, and people are begining to question why so much damage was caused.
someone in Iran, queing at a hospital has said

disgrace that a rich country like ours with all the revenue from oil and other natural resources is not prepared to deal with an earthquake".

other people have also comented

"Our government is only preoccupied with slogans: 'Death to America', 'Death to Israel', 'Death to this and that'. We have had three major earthquakes in the past three decades. Thousands of people have died but nothing has been done. Why?"

that is true even though i dont really understand it just recently california in the US got a quake that is now looking like it did more damage than it looked like.

am i the only one who posts american television news?
