get this, my girlfriend had played one videogame in her life before meeting me (warioland for the gameboy) and she used to bitch incessantly about how long/often I was playing pso. One day she sees how you can communicate with others and asks if I will let her type for me. I agreed, who wouldnt right? frees me up to kill more stuff. Then the other day I come home and she has created a character and is playing offline. then she starts playing online more and more. granted she isnt very good, and is afraid of dying...but still. today she calls me to tell me her mag evolved into a "little squiggly thing" and that she is now level 13. So if you see a little hunwearl with black hair named "Onyx" running around, go easy on her, its her first videogame experience, and i want to keep her addicted so I dont have to hear her bitch.

Thats cool Loki, My girlfriend and I have been gaming together for years. When we first met it was the same thing, she couldn't understand why I spent so much time with video games (I was at the height of my NWN addiction at the time) I finally made her sit through some of the old classics like Zelda on SNES, Final Fantasy II & III,Secret of Mana etc. etc. She's been a hardcore gamer ever since and owns about half our collection of games and systems. We even have 2 PC's and 2 Dreamcasts sharing a DSL line so we can play games together. There's something about a girl who can beat you to a pulp in DOA2 or crush your empire like a ruthless warlord in AOE II.

LOL! Sounds familiar, my husband just started his own char. and the fight is on! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

Funny to read your post, I was in the same position as your girlfriend - my family has the n64, psx and Dreamcast, and I have watched countless hours of everyone else playing - but never found a game to hold my attention. I got PSO for my birthday the day it came out end of January, and have basically played daily since...my husband is SHOCKED that I have lasted this long on a game, as he's bought me others that I have played for about a week before either giving up in frustration or getting bored. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Stories such as these are better than ' I won the local tourney...I found RARE SSS item....I had a 50000 game winning streak....I kick his asssss'

The point I'm making see, our better halves are having FUN~~~~~~

Which is why we play games in the 1st place.

My girl friend was never into games. When she took my N64...the fear of me never seeing my N64 was kinda huge.

For example, my non-gaming sister destroyed my PS by simply pressing the 'ON' button.

Controllers are broken cause they either
a)thrown against the floor/wall/Tvee,
b)smashed the buttons
c)machines n games comes back looking differently

So when my GF took my N64..I went out n bought her a guide book for mario64, thinking it was a smart move on my part. After all, with a good guide book, my controllers n the machine should be rather 'safe'.

Funny thing was, instead of the machine being in danger, it was my phonebills being HIGH HIGH HIGH.

She makes me ring her while I'm at home, then she tells me what lvl she's at now...what is infront of her n guide her through the ENTIRE GAME.

And for that, everynight me n her are on the phone...hearing her scream when she dies or hearing her scream in joy n procliaming ' GOD I AM GOOOOD'.

So, yeah for that mth, my phone bill registered a huge $600 plus * KA CHING~*

She's soooooooo good to me. After being only together for 1mth, she offered to pay 1/2 of the bill.

Being me, I absolutely refuse to let my GF pay for something she enjoys....

So, dang...blew my pay for that mth.

And since then, I've been buying games not only I like em, but I also buy games which I know she will enjoy. I've been buying her games for 4 yrs now.

Somehow, by dumb luck, I've managed to making gaming a quality pastime for us two to enjoy n share the fun.

Costly?

Yes...

But hey, I don't mind at all. Especially when I know she is happy n having GREAT fun.

Which is why we all started gaming in the first place.

To have fun.

Cool, someone else has two DC's set up through a broadband connection! It's great, isn't it?

If anyone wants any advice on how to set up multiple DCs, I'm always willing to help (not that it's too hard to figure out oneself).

This is so cool, last night we were supposed to go out to dinner and a movie, instead when i got home she says "Im almost done with the mines (shes level 14) Ill turn it off when we finish.... do you really want to see a movie? why dont we go to the videogame store and get a copy of the guide for this game?" lol. So I got her ANOTHER copy of the guide (mine dissapeared, but by then i was more than done with it) and since she is on spring break I know she'll pull ANOTHER 8 hour session today, like she did yesterday. My only hope is that I will be able to squeeze some time in tonight in the hard forest....gotta catch me a hildeblue.

Hahaha sounds familiar! When I met my bf, I didn't play games at all (unless it was on a board). I used to kick some ass in the OLD Super Mario Brothers (1, 2, 3) but after that I kinda grew out of video games. It all changed though. LOL. My bf has been a hardcore gamer his whole life, along with all his friends and family. So when I moved in with him and his father, it was kinda weird. Him and all his friends would be here playing til the next morning sometimes! But I finally got hooked back into video games with X-Men Mutant Academy, Rival Schools 2 (japanese), and a few others. Since we've been together, we've bought a Dreamcast, A PS2, tons of games, controllers, memory, the works! And when he bought PSO, and started playing, he went out and bought another memory card so I could play too. He eventually stopped playing when he saw I was on it so much, and just gave it to me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

hahaha, it's funny - I never thought that there are so many "girlfriends" playing PSO http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif. As my boyfriend, Excalibur, wrote: Well, I am not "afraid" of dying, but I don't like it to lay on the floor and go back to P2 just because of my "stupidity" ... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif Well, anyway, I am already Lv 26 with my RAmar and had my first (!) online session last weekend - and it was lots of fun (tx to Shivanox!)!

No, I don't want to buy a second DC because then I had to start again with my RAmar - and that "stinks" ... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

*lol* Honey.. with a second DC alone is it not done http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif

A second copy of PSO would also be necessary. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Taurus is my first girlfriend, who loves playing videogames the same way I do.. Sad for me, that I can't join her online to go as a couple.. but at the other way is it perhaps better that we can't http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif 'Honey, don't run all the time out of the rooms' http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif

*rofl* - ok, dear, I'll try NOT to run out the rooms (not before I checked them ... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif) But I'm getting stronger and more experienced every time I play and also my RAmar is doing very well, especially with this genious weapon which I grinded to +10 (or +12?) ... Oh, I hope to be home before you so I can take the chance to play once before you do ... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif
