Would anyone be offended if I posted a fanfic that contained homosexual romance? Ordinarily I would ignore protesters, but this isn't my board...

I'm sure there's something in the forum rules about that.
If not, I'm offerring my opinion that it's absolutely disgusting and I'd rather not have it around PSOW.

it depends what you mean by that. if your talking about simple romance, then i don't see why you shouldn't go ahead and do it. it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but noone should be offended. but then again, i cant speak for everybody.

I don't think if it's just a romance between two people of the same gender that it should be a problem, as long as it's not too graphic. I mean, I see lots of art dealing with that kind of thing, and because I generally don't like it, I just don't look at it. I imagine if you put a warning on it so that people who are offended by it don't have to read it, it would be fine to post it. I'd ask a mod first, though.

Just go for it. As long as it doesn't take front stage than whatever. You still might want to check with the mods just in case.

Nothing's keeping you from posting your story.

i agree with some of the other people, talk to a mod or read the rules, etc etc, but i don't think you should post it

Pornography
Do not post pornographic images of any nature or links to such websites anywhere on the site including your profile or signature. Posting pornographic images or links of any kind will result in an instant ban. This means no posting of any adult-related material or material that would be non-suitable for viewing by minors. Posts with descriptions or details of any sexual act or organs shall not be tolerated.

Rule 17. Definately run this by a mod. You might be able to get around it...

But wantint you to is another question entirely...

meh, i don't think he's talking about posting homosexual sex here. i think he just meant a romance, you know... as in romance, not porn.

Well, it's the last part there... shoulda bolded it I guess...

referring to "sexual acts".

That can be interpreted very broadly, or very strictly. A kiss for example, can be classified as such, and it depends on the personal definition of the reader...

i suppose, but there have been kisses in fanfics before without complaints so why should it matter if its between two guys or two women? i personally dont approve of it, but he should be allowed to do it if he wants to.

It's probably quite alright to have a homosexual romance in your story, but some people have very narrow-minds, so you might want to be prepared for some rude comments.

Alright, I won't post anything like that. I didn't expect to find so many closeminded people here.

First thing is first, run it by a mod just as M_quantum said, thats how you keep yourself out of getting into trouble. Secondly, there wouldn't really be a problem with relationships, no matter what they tend to be between. I myself have had relationships in my own ficcies (none described to explicity) and I haven't run into any trouble.

So having that type of relationship between two or more people wouldn't be considered offensive(by a lot anyways)

Another thing you could do is simply state a warning, just for things like; gory violonce, sexual relationships, whatever...

Just another precaution to prevent your thread being closed and getting sacked yourself. Oh and dont think we are all close minded, you'd be surprised by the talent and understanding many many of us portray. Being relatively new to the sytem, I would advise not being quick to judge any-one.
