is there a controller port to USB adapter so I can use any usb adapter for pso?

If there is, you'll probably only be able to find it online. Do a simple yahoo search and see what results you get!

As far as im aware, there are no USB adaptors for the gamecube, however you can get a PS2 (as in P.C socket, not console) adaptor for the gamecube and with that you can use any standard P.C keyboard.

other options include

Datel powerboard
Ascii keyboard
and maybe something else.
