View Full Version : Fanfic writers, may I take a moment of your time?

I'm just curious about the other people active on fanworks. I was going to post this in off topic, but since It's aimed mostly at writers I posted it here. I was thinking maybe someone should start a thread to get to know each other better. A lot of the work on this site is really good, some, even better than that. But, as I said, I'm just curious as to who some of you people are in reality.

I'm 14, male and live in England. I like reading fantasy and sci-fi books, and playing FPS games, RPGs etc.

Howdy, I'm Shake, the author of the ongoing series "Amidst the Flowing Waves..." (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=70359&forum=12&max_posts=82).

I'm a homeschooled student who lives in michigan. I've been a consistant gamer since I was 5, so, it's been almost 13 years of solid gaming. I like Role Playing Games a lot, but lately I've only been interested in the ones with Real Time battle systems. Turn based is getting a little too repetitive. I've also got extensive knowledge regarding Fighting Games, which is ironic, because I don't own that many at all. I've always been involved with my ideas with characters and video games and story plots. If I'm not gaming, I'll be drawing or writing ideas out.

I've got plans on going to the Center for Creative Studies, which is this really fancy Art college close by. From then on, I'll likely try to hook up with a Game Development circle or just become a freelance Character Designer. I'd love to end up like Akira Toriyama of Dragonball/Dragon Warrior/Chrono Trigger fame, or Tetsuya Nomura of Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts/Parasite Eve fame.

Hikara
Jan 12, 2004, 02:42 PM
Name's Hikara, 15 year old Male author of the Protectorate of Light series, of which the second book now has more replies than the Character bank. (That means something to me, just so you know.)

I love writing a lot more than I do reading, and most of my works are fanfics. Many of them aren't half bad! I'm also known as the Video Game King by Gnarled_Rose and my friends here in Utah. One of my friends said "Give him the controller, and the game's beat." It made me happy.

This thread should prove interesting, Garanz...

Name's Ian. 20, dark brown hair, curly, pulled back in low ponytail, blue eyes. 6'2, chunky, bad eyesight but no glasses.

Networking major at the local community college, part time computer geek, very part time artist, gamer and writer. I started writing my fanfic because I had nothing better to do, and I have an overly active imagination that likes to kind of just take control of my brain and not give it back, and this particular chain of thoughts has been bitching at me since sometime in October last year, so I've been writing stuff down. Slowly. Painfully. It's an ugly process with me, I think quickly and imaginitively, but god help me if I need to set something down in writing. The whole process just derails, my brain doesn't quite function in a mode that has anything at all to do with verbalization, which is odd since I love to read.

I like drawing, but I have very poor eye-hand coordination, and even though I can picture something I want to draw in near-photographic quality in my mind, I cannot, no matter how hard I try, translate that to actual paper. My hands just don't work right.

I like Sci-fi and Fantasy best, BTW, when it comes to reading.

Nerdy things I own/have owned:

Text files of Pi to 50 million digits
Two sealed boxes of 8" floppy disks
9600 baud modem
Core memory plane
Glow in the dark Albert Einstein T-shirt
Models of two of the Enterprises, original and E.
Communicator pin
Toy phaser
IDIC medallion
I -made- my own fricking Tribble.
Toy lightsaber
Starfleet Academy t-shirt

I have no life?

Let's see. Well, how about a list of my fan-type stuff?

Writing:
Shadows of the Heart (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=69820&forum=12) - My fanfic, a currently somewhat boring affair which I intend to have pick up rather quickly, as soon as I can find the time and inclination to actually write the bloody thing.
Couple of shorts (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=69442&forum=12) - A couple of short character pieces.
Horrorscopes (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=65428&forum=12) - Thread containing my take on section ID horoscopes. Note the presence of long-since recreated characters and the incorrectness of people's personalities, heh.

Art:
Calus (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=69511&forum=12) - Fanart of Calus as he appears in SotH.
Ian-Kun X (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=61864&forum=12) - Fanart of my HUmar, Ian-Kun X, which is horribly out of date(No pointy ears, gasp!).

I'd link my Calus and Elly sprites, but FFS, they're avatars. See my sig and page... 20 or 22 or something of the avatars, lol. Ooh, except I just found a topic where I posted pretty much every one I've ever done, lol:
http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=62217&forum=12
Ah, and here's a misc one. I almost like the little Sato I made, lol:

HUnewearl_Meira
Jan 12, 2004, 04:16 PM
On the web, I typically go by the name VanGarrett, or some variant (PhanGarrett on the PSDB), though I've also been known to go by the name "JubeAcino" or "Jube Acinonyx". I chose "HUnewearl_Meira" for PSO World, as the character I use most is my HUnewearl, and I wanted people to be able to recognize me if they saw me in one place or another.

My real name is Garrett Courtney. I'm 22 and happily married. My current occupation is that of a Civil Draftsman, which means that I draw construction plans for parking lots, streets and subdivisions. I'm currently about a year and a quarter into a 3 year program to become an EIT (Engineer In Training), at which point, I'll be able to take a test to become a Civil Engineer at any time that the test becomes available (to my knowledge, at least; there may be a time requirement to upgrade to an Engineer that I'm not aware of).

I'm also quite the Phanatic. I started playing Phantasy Star games when I was somewhere from 10 to 12 years old, with Phantasy Star 2, and I've been hooked ever since. I've also done a great deal of research on the subject (I even once wrote a paper on the subject for my English class), and now I'm rather knowledgeable about it. I try not to take individual theories too seriously, though I will say that I cannot be shaken on my belief that Noah is, in fact, Lutz. If you want to argue, I can give enough suggestive evidence to completely remove the original reason why you might've thought they were different to begin with.

A note on my collection of Phantasy Star stuff... I own all of the original series, including two copies of Phantasy Star 2 and one copy of Phantasy Star Collection for the GBA (Still hoping to find a copy of Phantasy Star Collection for the JP Saturn... Oooo... Quite a jewel for any collection), PSODC, two copies of PSODCv2, PSOGC, PSO Episode 3 JP, two different PSO artbooks, the original Phantasy Star 2 hint guide, PSODC Guidebook, PSOGC/X Guidebook, PSO Gushapon series 1, and Toyo Ozaki's Phantasy Star 3 Artbook "Diet". I may own more stuff that I can't think of off hand. I'd really like to get my hands on copies of the JP Game Gear games, the Games no Kan collections, Phantasy Star Collection for the JP Saturn, the Phantasy Star Compendium, and any of the numerous Phantasy Star artbooks floating around in Japan.

I'm not much on reading a great deal for some reason, but I've always enjoyed writing however, and growing up I was constantly told that I write rather well. Go figure. In any case, I've took up writing PSO fanfictions because it'd been a while since I'd written anything, and I wanted to write something in a first person perspective. I also wanted to actually FINISH something. Now I've finished two borderline novel-length fanfics, and I'm working on the third of twelve. Now I see them as an opportunity to sharpen my writing skills before writing a series of books with intent to publish. I've also considered having the fanfics themselves published; though I'm thinking I may want to publish them in groups of three or four, if I am to do that.

Actually, my creative talents in general are rather well-rounded. There are a number of things that I've learned to draw rather well, and I've also been employed as a professional photo editor at a small newspaper (So yes, I do fairly well with Photoshop). I've also composed a number of songs using a program called Buzz as well as a guitar (I'm self-taught, and I even know chords by name, har). I won't claim that my songs are all that great, but I can indeed say that I've gotten a few peoples' attention with them. My personal favorite of my works is a toss up between a short, two-minute guitar riff I call "Requiem for Randomness" (it's actually more flamenco-styled, but eh), and a remix of Dark Falz' theme from the original Phantasy Star.

-is bad writer- Yay! 16 year old male, I actually have a video tape of me playing mario when I was 3. Love gaming to death and I tend to get people angry when they simply can't beat me at games. The only thing I don't like in games are escort missions. Curses... Love reading also, and I started writing things in general when a person I know told me to "Be inspired to be inspired." I tend to base stories or fanfictions on either real life events or dreams. (FKLCL is purely based on a dream I had). Also love to go mudding^_^ since down here in texas there's countless four-wheeler trails. Speaking of Texas, my birthday just happens to land on Texas independence day^_^. Real name is (ironically) Aaron Story >.< so don't start with the jokes about aaron carter or "tell me a story, story". That's the basics of what is me^_^.

Hates: Inefficient schoolwork, nearly everything in my case. But if i skip a grade i'll have more work! I hate these kind of things.

Hmmm...

I write alot, but am not used to writing things like fanfics. The Guild (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=73025&forum=12&41) is my first fanfic.

I like to write more than read so I can modify the story. I like, play, write music and the like. I also attend the Church of Christ, which I enjoy.

I like stradegy, RPG, party, puzzle, and Animal Crossing. Action games are ok, but I prefer the above. I don't like Sport, FPS, or fighting games(except SSBM).

Thats it.

My screen names Jaks, 19 years and counting, I created the WaCn (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=73626&forum=12&3) series. Some are good, some are not. But I've been here long enough to ensure that the next two, which are also the last, go out funny as hell.

I also have another fic that I haven't gotten to do much of yet.

yeah yeah yeah, i know, im not a fanific writer. but i dont wanna feel left out. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

that said, i have been working on a fanfic for a while now. i have done 2 re-writes, because frankly it isn't that good. then shocked aint the word when i discovered that plotlines, and ways i intended to take my story began to crop up in other fics. great minds really do think Alike http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif. problem is i enjoy reading them more than i do writing them.

that said, i have helped out in numerous group fics http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif.

my real name is Brian O'Connor. At the tender age of 8 i earned myself the nickname boc, as some bright young spark noticed that what my initials spelled. since then its kinda stuck. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif i live in N.Ireland. im 19 years old, male (last time i checked anyway), and currently in my first year of university studying marketing.

to tell the truth i never really got into gaming in a big way until i was 12. since then it has been a downward spiril into game geekdom. you pretty much guarnteed that if im not eating, sleeping, drinking or reading the latest chapter on psow, im ploughing through some bug/alien/zombie/orc/small furry yellow chicked invested level.

suppose i really should get the fic finished, polished and typed up, so i have a reason for been here. knowing me u can expect it some time in 2008.

PEACE!!!

Fanfic writers? Hey, that's me!
Anyway, even if I haven't actively posted anything, Hikara can vouch for me, and you know he writes!
Fav games? Not much, really. I prefer writing and creating my own universe with my own rules.
Oh, yeah! I'm also 16/M, in case anyone was wondering. Did I mention I like to flatter myself like that?
So, uh...Personality-wise, I'm kind of the knight in charred black armor around here. I'm nice, chivalrous and all that, but once my job's done, people don't notice me and I'm usually okay with that. Unless, of course, I think I could help her--I mean, them more.
Which brings me to my next point: As far as romantic relationships go, nonexistant. Or, if it's possible, negative existence. Of course, it's through no fault of my own. Unfortunately, the least religious answer I could give you about it is: God.
I'm really the strong-and-silent, tall, dark, and...http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_redface.gifdark type.
Anyway, I guess that's it. I suppose that if there's anyone in need of a romantic poem/story, you can PM me. Y'know, if you've got an anniversary, birthday, marriage proposal...I don't have many limits.

IRL, my name is Michael, but most people call me Kafka anyways. im 18 and as of a week from now engaged to my girlfriend Alicia.

i work as a tech engineer for a small company that is corporately controlled and yada-yada...

i basically write up plans for stuff. it could be plans for everything from a new parking lot, or a new car. i was actually called in to give my thoughts on a new concept prototype car from Ford... wont get into much detail about that.

i also am a book critic for a local newspaper, and i get alot of hate mail about it too. whoo!

other than work, i usually sit at home with Alicia and do stuff, or we go out and go to a rave (if there is one around)

can get dull but meh

Righty-o! I'm KodiaX987, PSOW's Red Forman and the proud creator of Shurikane.

I'm 19 years old, resident of the suburbs around the island of Montreal, Canada, currently in 4th session CEGEP school in Pure Sciences. I love gaming, computing, reading, writing, flying (current owner of a Private Pilot License with Night and Multi-Engine ratings,) skiing and golfing.

I've been a fan of Phantasy Star ever since the first edition - except Generations of Doom - simply because it was the only RPG set in the future at that time. With PSO as my latest addiction, I have been loyal to my DC controller for over 600 hours of total logged game time just on that game. It's through PSO that I got to create my different fanfic characters I'm mostly known for, namely Kod, Shurikane, Sierra (AKA, Minishuri,) and Zinackst.

My PSO fics prompted my passion for writing. To date, I've written about 35 short stories and poems, and 6 full-size stories (The House of God, The Android Sin, The Armageddrive Nightmare, Writer Vigilante's Black Hood Remix, The Black Editors and The Holy Biznatch, and Furious Butterflies,) and one cooperative fanfiction (The Half-Naked Mind.) I'm also happy to count over a dozen fanart pics, and a full story illustration series consisting of nearly 40 drawings. I have also set up my own fantasy universe, called Soul Terminal, which takes in many aspects of PSO, and in which most of my characters evolve now.

I am not much of a fanfiction reader, mainly due to my current lack of time to go ahead and read the many, many fics published at PSOW each day. I admit, it takes a lot to grab my attention - so a word to the wise: if you manage to catch it, chances are your fic is very, very good.

Well, my current age is 18, and im studying Computer Games Design at Lincoln University (but im on the Hull campus). Live in England, been playing games since i was about 3 (i loved my Dads old Spectrum) and have been Fan Fic writing here for over two years now (most of that time has been spent on my 'Do Hucast' series though).

Ive become a bit of a Anime and Manga fan over the last few years, mostly due to the fact that many games have the same anime/manga style to them. Ive also found myself reading some americain comics of late, but then again, they seem to be tying back into my old Anime/Games fandom (Street Fighter, Megaman and Transformers are the current ones im reading. Ive also had a look in on a series called 'Agent X' though, whihc seemed kinda cool, i wanna try and find some more stuff that features Deadpool and his semi alter ego thingy's).

Also a massive Sonic Team Fan. Ive tried to buy every Sonic Game over the years, and if a Sonic Team game come sout, i buy it.

You should go ahead and give Phantasy Star 3 a shot. It's surprisingly more high-tech than it appears at first. The game has both the best and worst graphics of the series, as well as the best and worst music of the series. Highly detailed enemies with little or not animation. Some songs are orchestral masterpieces, others are only a few notes long and a pain to listen to over and over again.

In any case... I'm starting to think I'm the oldest fanfic author here...

Meh, may as well put my crap here.

From the sounds of it I'm the only female author here. I'm 17, live in the middle of nowhere (Wisconsin), and have been writing fiction (of various sorts) for as long as I can remember. It's been five years since I started reading and writing fanfiction.

Anyhoo, I'm the author of the currently dying (thus I'm not providing a link) Divine Fire of the Heart.

As for everything else - I'm a freak. I listen to New Age/Rock Opera/Alternative/Mediaeval/Celtic music; I'm an avid dancer, singer, and seamstress; and my major hobbies are gaming, making websites, writing, reading, and world building (ie. making up realistic worlds and characters for stories, most of which never get written). My goal in life is to make a lot of money and build myself a castle in Hawaii.

What is it with Phantasy Star phans from Northern Europe, and Hip-hop? Is Hip-hop just incredibly popular up there or something? I do find it to be quite strange that a style of music developed or otherwise inspired by young people living in the US of African decendency to be so popular in nations populated by definitively white people...

And why did I go through such an effort to describe black people in such a politically correct way?

For all intensive purposes, The Recollection of Meira was the first story I've ever finished writing.

Just sit down and commit to finishing something. If you don't like where something's going, then go back and change it before you post, and let the community judge the quality of your fic. You've had some comedic success with your Boomas. Draw from that experience.

Other than seamstress and i want my castle in Iceland, Scotland, or Ireland i'm on a pretty equal level with you. Even in the music, i thought no one else (except maybe your sis) listen to Celtic. That makes me wander if i'm a freak :/

LoL, I said old-school hiphop! It's not like it's the only style I like. I'm a real Daft Punk fan! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Well, I'm gonna post, even though I'm officially just a Fan Artist at the moment. (Soon as I get that darn Fan Fic off my other comp, I can finish the beginning and post it.)

Hi, my name's Greg.

Hope everybody's doing well.

I'm 18, and a student at SUNY Binghamton in NY.

Short brown hair, blue eyes, and the ladies love me for it.

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Big time videogame fan. As are both my brothers. My bro used to write for Nintendojo (if you've ever heard of it) and go to E3 and all that. Got Miyamoto to sign our Ocarina of Time cartridge. I cry tears of joy every time I see it.

Oasis is the greatest band ever. (If they say it, who am I to argue?) I'm also a huge Third Eye Blind fan.

I draw much more often than I write. My mom's a photo-realist, and she taught me most of what I know. For the most part, my style is very comic bookish. Huge fan of Akira Toriyama, and I think my style borrows the most from him. Also enjoy Todd Nauck, Humberto Ramos, Jim Lee... those guys.

My PSOW fan stuff is fairly limited. I've posted two pieces of fan art, and (just barely) contributed in one of the group fics. (Or was it two?) I started a fan fic, but never finished it. As I stated above, it's stuck on my old comp's harddrive, and I'm too lazy to hook it up.

I'll shut up now.

Isn't it great how we all get off-topic? Anywho, guess I should introduce myself, seeing as how I have recently become a FanFic writer.

My real name is Brian, but I'd rather not go by that. I live in Utah, and I'm friends with both Hikara and Rose, and we're all super-duper gamers. We all have are moments, Hikara, just gets more I suppose. Besides PSO, I enjoy just about any RPG game, and I LOVE Kingdom Hearts. (KH2 comes out next year!) When I'm not gaming or writing, I love to fence. I don't know why, it's just fun. Oh, and Kefka, kudos on gettin engaged!

Actually, few of you already know. I wanted to make a fanfic. I got the idea, got the plotline, and I can even do my own illustrations if I were to do it. Unfortunately, I looked at all the other available fics and not sure if I can do well with the plot I have... it seems like it has been done before here and there. Sometimes good writing skills helps in that sort of sense, but I am not too confident in that either. Hehe. This is where the "English is not your first language" come and stab you painfully in the back all the time. Hehe.

Though. Of all the ficcies I have read, people are always one sort of saviour or key to some important event or another. I'd very much like to see some fics of people who are kinda clueless and just go by their everyday life. Of course, that wont be very dramatic... well I guess depends how you would do it... I am really dragging this off topic am I not? Hehe. Please, no kicks.

Hmm, this is a good idea...

First off, you must know, I am extremely paranoid. I watch people in malls, and wonder which of them is going to knife me. Therefore, I will not give extreme specific details.

I am a Ficcyer! From before the ficcie-boomers. I've been around here for roughly half a year, when I wandered in here looking for a Crankshaft I was convinced was called Crookshanks. (I read the first 10 chapters still thinking that...)

I plan to write several long fics, but procrastination is my one huge fualt. So I enjoy writing spur of the moment shorts, mostly funny with my sense of humor that has only been compilmented on twice (except here).

I read fics when I can, sadly I have slacked as of late. Sorry post-ficcie-boomers. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I read books well, but infrequently. Same goes with video games. (Old school forever! I own TWO working Nitendos, and a swell multitude of games for them.) The one problem I have is that I cannot stay with the path that is given to me, and my mind constanly wanders from the narrow plotlines laid before my figurative feet.

I have an unwholesome attraction to guns, blades, and explosives, though I rarely get to touch one. I have a useless medley of skills like the ability to juggle and the skill of handmaking chainmail.

My best pieces to date are (would put links, but not sure how to... hmmmm, any help? Maybe PM?):

The Human-Newman Conflict (long serious)
Moon-Rock Soup (Short comedy)
Lsd's Fight with Falz (Short comedy)

I have several more in planning, but... That will come if I do not put it off.

EDIT: Oh yeah, by the way, I've known what B.O.C. stood for for 2-3 months! Go me! And I saw a BOC gas truck drive by on time.

I know it's off-topic, but wouldn't it be cool if Navi, LJR, Meira, and Hikara all merged their abilities into one, as in 100% capability. In other words they would have to be one person, though LJR would be a girl with three guys. How about we replicate their tallents and stick it all in one brain. Yeah, now see, The Recollection Saga is very much a team effort to move along and complete the over all plot, and no individual main character is really focused on more than the others, where the over all plot is concerned. Of course, at this stage in the series, the plot is still very much unfolding.

Sometimes when I have an idea that I really like, but have nothing to do with, I'll write it down with just the characters that participated in it in my head. Sometimes it's characters I've worked with before, and sometimes it's a bunch of no-names. I typically refer to those *extremely* short stories as "Random Plot Twists". They've got nothing to do with anything, and are indeed very very random. Albeit, it's been a while since I've done one, as I've got a current project to use most scenes in at the moment. Plus, I've lost the two or three files I've started with them, due to shifting from old computers, to temporary computers, to new computers, and so on. Sometimes you just can't save everything.

yeah i noticed that too. really, would the guy in charge of deciding who went on pioneer 2 say "hey, lets have 15 000 super unbelievable heros onboard, and lets even that out with another 15 000 dr evil type baddies who like to kill for the hell of it!

thats what u gotta love about fics that have no super-human half demon/angel genetically modified, cyborg man to save the day. these are the fics were u get a few normal hunters who are in the wrong place at the wrong time, trying to make the best of a bad situation. the odds are against them. survival isn't guarnteed. its always makes for good stories.

how many saviour types have blasted entire legions of enemys away without breaking a sweat or even bleeding? *yawn* you see the end before it happens. super hero comes to final battle with dark falz or old dr evil type enemy. the two fight a bit. dr evil kicks his ass kicked royally. hero gets girl/guy/mag (if u like that sort of thing http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif). the end. or is it?

thats what made die hard such a great movie. it wasn't mr ideal cop with rippling six pack and giant hand cannon vs the nasty german dudes. it was a baldy dude with a beer belly and no shoes. he gets shot, beaten, blown up, and there are points when u think, hes done for!

therefore: baldy dude + terroists - shoes + getting the crap knocked out of him = EXCITEMENT!

u can call that B.O.C.'S theory of die hard...ness.

I'm a kid stuck in an adult's body. -_- I do write fanfictions from time to time, but somehow I'm begun converting my fanfictions to comics even though I'm not a great drawer (though I'm not a great writer since my vocabulary matches that of a 5th grader!), but that shouldn't stop anybody for unleashing their wild imagination into the wild.

My name is Ray (male), and I am 25 living in Maryland, USA. I've been a gamer for a while, been heavily addicted to anime & manga, soon be heading off to Pharmacy School in a little while, been trying to draw several comics, and got into PSO rather late. I'm terribly young at heart ceasing the urge to actually grow up due to my idiotic imagination.

Current Works:
[Fanfiction/Comic] - No title yet, shall run somewhat in the continuity of Davion's and M_Blackhawk's fanfiction. I sometimes do requests, but I'm still striving to become better for there is still a lot I need to learn.

16/Male/Montana

Name's Kellen--named after Kellen Winslow the football player.

In Gaelic (Celtic) my name means 'slender and fair'.

Live in a shotty town in Montana to small to be put on a map--not even capable of getting broadband where I live.

One sibling-an older brother. Majority of my friends are my bro's friends...I've always found my place with the older crowd; I relate to them a lot better.

First fanfic I ever wrote was "The Six Ghosts".

I later submitted into the PSOW FANFIC COMPETITION and won in both categories I submitted in.

-Best Fight Scene: Gude VS Eval

-Funniest Story: Chaotic Bar

^ I never in my entire life felt as honored when Batou made a thread in Fanworks about my short fic Gude VS. Eval. The drawing meant a lot to me--and it still does. He then did a piece on T6G for me--as we have come to know over time--Batou is a kick ass artist.

-Currently I'm writing Mitigate; the prequel to The Six Ghosts.

If it wasn't for PSO, I would never have thought of writing fanfics.
Although, kind of a funny story...in 3rd and 4th grade the teacher (same teacher both years) used to give me 20 mins of class to read my stories to my classmates. I had a JNCO shirt (yes I know) with an alien on the back--and the stories I wrote were about my classmates and our alien-friend "Peiwey". http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I like music from all sorts of bands and styles; but here is a general list:

-The Mars Volta
-At the Drive-In
-Sparta
-System of a Down
-Weezer
-Tool
-Radiohead (as seen on my T-shirt above)
-Metallica
-The Strokes
-Mudvayne
-NIN
-Rage Against the Machine
-Nirvana
-The Smashing Pumpkins
-Sublime
-Queen
-Queens of the Stone Age

I enjoy partying with friends on the weekends--usually just going to the movies or hanging out. I'm not a huge fan of dating right now, and nearly all of my life is fueled and inspired by music.

I was a lead vocalist in a band that nearly got a record deal--until we split up from numerous reasons not worth going into right now. We played a few shows and had a summer tour lined up after I was out of school.

I no longer am in the same band--or any band. I still love to sing, and my brother still loves to drum. He is currently getting offers from a studio for drumming, and is kind of a known person here in Montana.
A Montana chain-store gives him free merchandise, and he orders a lot of the store's inventory.
He is in a band right now--but mainly because he just loves having a group of people to jam with (If any of you have heard Jimmy Chamberlin's drumming in the Smashing Pumpkins albums, he can play all of the songs pitch-perfect on the records; as well as John Theodore's work on The Mars Volta's De-loused in the Comatorium) The band knows he won't stay with them long--he is thinking of music as a long term career...alongside his degree in political science.

I hope that's a good generalization about myself.

Meira mentioned this a while ago to LJR...

You should combine your artistic stylings with LadyRedComet's writing aspirations to create a comic. Fanart and fanfiction rolled into one. Can't go wrong with that. It could potentially maintain even MY attention.

Actually, we are. But it's got nothing whatsoever to do with PSO and it's got a horrendously complicated background and plot. A full-length comic based on PSO would be fun, but I'm having major problems getting anything written based on any of the plots I've come up with. This is the weirdest form of writers' block I've ever had.

Not meaning to be impolite, but your point is? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I am almost certian beyond doubt that you can post non-PSO related pictures and stories here. Mixfortune said so in Wandering Wordworks at any rate, and he's been around longer than I.

I would be very gald to see it, and I would suppose everyone esle has the same opinion... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, if you really want to see it, if LJR ever gets any of it drawn (heh, and if I ever finish writing the story) and we can ever find a decent server for it, we'll post a link somewhere.

There's a picture of the protagonist, Xalaquia. It's by LJR, but it's very old ('twas her first cg!).

Okay, I'll see what I can do. I hope I don't have trouble uploading.

I have artbooks for the following:
- Fire Emblem [j], Famicom
- Fire Emblem 2 [j], Famicom
- Fire Emblem 3 (remake of 1 plus a new scenario) [j], Super Famicom
- Fire Emblem 4: Geneology of the Holy War [j], Super Famicom

I do not have artbooks of:

Hey, excuse me! You haven't shown me ANY of it. How can I do anything besides character sketches if I don't know what's going on? Lol.

I'd love to do a PSO comic. If anyone would like to write a story for one for me, that'd be lovely. *G*

EDIT: And yeah, that pic is VERY old. Over a year old. *laughs* I remember when I printed it in Computer Art... We had a long term sub because the teacher was on maternity leave, and the sub was like "That doesn't look like a CD cover!" (which is what the beginner students were doing...) That was an off-topic comment, but it was really funny. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I wish my teacher would give that pic back, too... She always takes it for some display or another. *growls*

Omigod! Could you do one of my fic?

I just need to add details here and there and finish it up.

^_^ how long will we have to wait though?

ladyjaderiver
Jan 17, 2004, 07:00 PM
It depends on how much detail you'd want. *G* The drawings I do for other people all have a lot of detail compared to the doodles I do for myself and for my sister. I'd try to work on a normal manga-ka schedule and do 18 to 28 pages a week, but that just doesn't work with school, so I'd try to do about one chapter every month or two.

EDIT: By chapter up there, I meant manga chapters - which are 18 to 28 pages.

I already got my story to draw my comic, but it's long and complicated. It's going to be fun when I begin using the Character Bank. x_x
