FanArt: My first submitted Fanart

I haven't colorized it yet, but what do you think? This is a picture of my old FOmarl. I have a colorized picture of it that needs to be scanned. It was drawn using a basic Uniball finepoint pen. Keep in mind this was drawn about March of last year. I don't know why I haven't submitted more before but I'm hoping to bring in more if you all seem to like this one.

That's pretty good for ball point. Of course if you made the thing in pencil, then traced over it on another paper with pen, the skill level goes down. Either way it looks great.

The original actually looks better but I redid the resolution so that it wouldn't take up huge ammounts of storage and wouln't mess with the screens. And I'm planning on colorizing it with PSP soon.

(It's Rurouni Kenshin) Are you talking about Kaoru Kamiya? It does kinda look like her.

EDIT: Lol, that's kinda funny, since my FOmarl who looks like this is named after Megumi Takani from the same series.

I think it's the light reflection that was drawn on, not the pupils. I don't sketch in pupils either, just the light reflection.

And if you noticed I got rid of the rather lengthy jaw line. Now I just have to move up the later portion of it and the jaw should look much better. I also realize the ear is somewhat strange but I am not going to fix that part. The white specks will obviously be gone after the final colorization.

Also does anyone have a good idea for a background color? I have some ideas but would like your opinions as well. And to note the odd shape of the ring, I have shaky hands due to a genitic disorder so sometimes when I do things they shake and it is often impossible to draw good circles.

Yes I believe so too, the face does look out of proportion. I've been drawing people for about two years now, and being the perfectionist that I am, I have a very slow drawing rate, about 1 person every 2 or more weeks. However if it is just the head of a person I can do the sketch in about 5-15 minutes with little trouble, add the body and it turns into two weeks. Although in the case of this picture it is more like ten months from sketch to coloring. Yay for procrastinating perfectionists!

Yes, Karou (sp) that's the one, if BLITZ would have made the picture have the same hair color, it look a lot like her.
