Defeating Falz online for the first time with other players...that was so cool for me. The feeling of teamwork was unique for me in a video game, and it was a real high. DC was so ahead of its time...

Also, my genuine spread needle was my favorite weapon...(sniff)...how I miss her...

I don't miss the level 100 cap, however.

I also remember that the only difference in stats between a HUcast and a HUmar was +8 ATA (when it didn't matter) for the HUcast and +590 MST for the HUmar. Also androids didn't have traps and HUmars had S/D. Game balance is so overrated (j/k http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif).

Also, online play was free!

I remember a store that 2 friends of mine and me made in Iapetus-1... PSO Convenience Store or Tomato PSO Store it was called, obviously dragged from ShenmueI. The first time I joined a Very Hard game, I piped down to the caves and started attacking some enemies and got completely owned.

I was like

Also, I remember seeing a partisen for the first time in an online forest game. I basically was attached to the HUcast with it--I just enjoyed watching it.

Hated Kama or Varaha since v1. The few mags I thought that kicked ass in v1 was Naga (the flying spermcell http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) and Ushasu (or as I called them "Koopa Shells" http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif ) and most of the force mags.

LOL the only rare enemy I saw in v1 was a Hildeblue and the only thing I noticed before I already killed him was: "Hmmm his horns look funny" sec after that he was dead. I learned later that mutt with the weird horns was called a Hildeblue LOL (he dropped Durandal http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif )

some mates from v1 I even play with now on ep1&2 and ep3. And got to meet some of those v1 mates in real life too.

First time online was so cool and weird.

those were fun times. i remember something happened to my DC and i lost my key codes and numbers and couldn't play PSO online for along time. when i was finally able to, i came back in after the GSers settled in.

it was like going to sleep and waking up the next day to see the world in ruins! like a movie it was... anyway, i looked around and heard stories from friends about how some people became bounty hunters and killed people who killed others for no reason.

one of my fondest memories tho was having a very stable group of friends. that was the best, it was my friends who were Boyfriend and Girlfriend and me. one time a guy tryed to cut in on the BF's action and steal the GF, so all of us in turn fucked with the guy's head. at first it we acted out the BF and GF breaking up over something stupid really violently in front of the guy, which made him feel really guilty. then we made it look like the BF and myself get really pissed at each other, this drove the guy nuts screaming: "NOOO! STOP IT!!! DAMNIT, NOOO!!!"

it was really REALLY mean, but funny as hell.

The days when playing Forces were useless...

I guess my favorite time was doing itemless VHruins runs which meant going to ruins with no items and getting by with only what you find.

There was also the "No Death" group which was designed to prepare for v2 challenge mode.

I remember stealing my first double saber, then feeling guilty and gave it back lol.

When I first got my 1100% holy ray and nearly fainted at the damage I was doing.

GameSharker's lol yea I remember that term, shame cheating came along, luckily I got to lvl 100 before it did and was able to show off. =)

Hehe, just read the first post again and remembered Kama's, they used to be godly mags, feels odd to say that now.

And yea those days were great when no one cared about what a monster dropped, it was all fun and games back then. In fact I didnt even know it was possible to get half the rares in the game, apart from a couple of Twin Brands, Double Sabers and Heaven's Punisher from Falz.

Anyway I was always content with a Twin Brand. Once cheats came I left not long after corrupting my PKing memory card with a 'Moonwalk' cheat. Oh and dont worry I only PKed PKers for fun, like duels. =)

I havn't played since those early DC days (Feb-March 2001?!). It was fun then... and free.

I recall being a Force of some kind in a black & yellow outfit. Man that sucked. He was sooo usless. I think that's why I quit. It was no fun being a level 65 Force and you couldn't have any of the cool weapons, yet everyone else could do anything you could:( I also recall I hosted a PSO website for someone (some liar who loved to say he worked for Sega, lol) who stole a header graphic from another PSO site, so I had my site shut down by my host! Thanks!

Where am I going with this? Oh yeah, someone's trying to convince me to pick PSO up again GC style, I'm not so sure I can handle another Forest-Ruins run... but...

Dying was a something that happened alot, until i learned how to hit them with 3 hit combo lol. ahhhhh the good ol dreamcast........ how i miss thee. yeah pso was my first online game EVER so i remember alot of stuff. the first thing is when i first went into the lobby and my friend was simple mailing me and telling me to use the guild card he sent me to got to oberon 10. it took forever for him to teach me some of the basics but then i figured out how stuff worked. i remember clearly how amazed i was at this game and how many ppl were on it when i started. i also remember meeting my first real good gameing friends who i now sorta lost toutch with but "hey thats life". and learning how to "animate" symbol chats! ahhhhhhh them were the days.

O and do any of you remember this (was on v.2.) Legit PK http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif If you did the trick that allowed you to restore your M8's TP on ver 2 it would reduce the other players health to 1. Doing this at a boss meant that you could PK someone but without a Gameshark, i did it and got the Twin Chakram but gave it back as it was just a goof.

Now I fell like a badass cuz Im using a gameshark to reroute my connection to the EU Servers by changing the DNS. Dont come PMing me about it because Im not telling.
But there is a homebrew US DC SERVER coming....and it works...should be out by.....middle feb.....said....to...much....

i remember the double saber and scythe being the greatest weapons.
yes forces were pretty much weak in v1

Remember when I got my first delsabers buster, thought it was the rarest thing ever, showed it off so much, also remember playing with a dude with a lavis cannon and trading weapons with him for the caves then swaping back when finished the level.

PKers would have to be one of the biggest things, it was new to my vocabulary.

Also one drunken night I was yelling at the TV "MOON ME YOU F_CKING C__TS" and people downstairs getting quite... confused.
