Just want to know how many people have already reserved a copy of the game. Everything about the game looks great, only need to wait for 2 more weeks.

instead off that lame "turn based" shit

So far I've seen it get average ratings. The problems are supposedly a lack of character development (storywise and somewhat physically), and that damn bucket that prevents you're people from splitting up. Really, that is the worst idea anyone has had in a game.

The main problem IMO is the need for a few GBAs to be linked ...

If I remember correctly, the normal GC controller doesn't work with FF:CC because it needs a screen.

I've personally been thinking about this as well. Since one of the screens (GBA) are going to be the map. Shouldn't that one be played on a Game Boy Player on a seperate TV so it'll be easier for everone to see ?

P.S. didn't reserve yet, prolly no need. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I think you can play it with a normal controller in single player, but for multiplayer you need GBAs.

Oh yeah, I reserved it.

me thinks it'll be layme. the bucket, and the fact that when you access your magic on your GBA your GC character is pretty much a sitting duck, and the fact you have to 'combo move' to do any good magic

Have any of you considered the essence of teamwork? Splitting up isn't really the best alternative.

I've heard its great fun with three or four people. And come on, who DOESN'T have a GameBoy?

Now trying to do LAN Mario Kart... that's nigh-impossible. But I'm gonna try it one of these days. (Though only my roommate owns it.)

Honestly, I just see FF:CC as PSO but not online and with Final Fantasy characters. I'm looking forward to it (again, my roommate buying it) but I don't know if I'll get it myself.

Oh, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a sequel to FFIX. Or prequel. Whatever.

But who has 4 of those GC connector cables? And think of how much that bucket limits gameplay possibilites. This game is basically Gauntlet with an FF skin set.

You get one free when you preorder it. Me, I was a retard and got one just for the SA2:B to SA chao garden whatnot.

From what I understand/have read, you can drop the bucket and do whatever you please. Its just that the team can't progress anywhere without someone carrying it.

And I don't think there are tons of enemies to smash. I read an import review, and the reviewer said that instead of massive hordes that are easy to beat, its just a limited number of enemies that are pretty tough.

I dunno, I might rent it.

You can drop it, but you have to stay within its limits. But basically yes, it's still a hack n' slash.

Which eliminates needless split-screen and adds a bit of strategy to what would otherwise be mindless hack n' slash. Personally, I have no real problem with the bucket, but obviously I can't pass judgement until I play it.

From what I've seen so far, I think this game will be pretty good. I really enjoyed the old Mana series and is expecting this game to be somewhat alike. Just 2 more weeks and I'll be able to give it a review. I'm just worried that I won't have enough time to play both this game and PSO.

8/10 EGM, 7/10 Game Informer. Good, but nothing revolutionary. As I suspected the bucket was problematic, the GBA connectivity is tacky, and the feel of FF is dulled by the lack of cinematics, characters, etc.

I actually dislike Final Fantasy for trying movie-like and moving. That is one of the reasons why Crystal Chronicles sounds like fun.

Even if isn't great, at least it will hold me over until Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and Tales of Symphonia arrive later this year.

Thank you skett, you just nailed my feelings on the last few FF's and why I look forward to this.

Anyone on this site that complains about character development in this type of game... needs to be shot. I think that the GBA multiplayer thing could have been the best thing to happen to the gc... if everyone had three friends with GBAs and link cables. Each player gets a portion of the info needed to navigate effectively. This would establish team roles for everyone. Still, i would need to go buy two more cables.

I played PSO for over a year by myself, offline. I think i can handle CC.

PS- I like the bucket idea http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yeah that's probably wat the company was thinking... and i have a feeling that the NDS will use the second screen instead of the gba...

Best thing to do was buy the GBA and link cables for PSO when mini-games first came out. This prepare me for the unexpected... when FF:CC was actually coming to GameCube.

Thank GOd.
