Gamecube-internal error crap makes it not work

Playstation-DDR is my only game and my pads have stopped working

Neopets-got boring

Runescape-got boring

None of my friends are home and I'm home alone

I'm bored stiff

I can't find any good online games

can someone reccommend me to a free one that won't get boring after two minutes?

Also, I can't play MUDs on my computer.... thanks!

Go download Ragnarok online....that's fun. And its not a beta anymore so they won't spoon you in the dark. 15day free trial. Yup I'm on my 2nd one >_>;;

DOOM is still pretty good online. There's usually a game open, or plenty of players who want to challenge you if you make your own game.

It's completely free too. You CAN play with the Shareware trial version.. but for the most access you'll probably want full versions of Doom and Doom II, which probly cost like 10 bucks altogether. You'll also need to download the DOOM Legacy patch - which has a ton of upgrades and new features (including online play - and many of the niceties that go with it, like customizable character skins).

Sure it's old and dated - but you know what? It's also DAMNED fun to play still. Unlike the excessively craptacular updates done on versions ported to the PSX and N64.. Legacy actually puts DOOM up on the level of Quake's gameplay. 1280x800 resolution and 60/FPS helps to really clean the game up.

Go there for screenshots on the things possible with the latest Legacy patches. While many of these effects aren't found in the original game, there's still a very strong "Cult" of Doom level designers to make custom .wads.. so you always have something new to play with.

If you're into text-based RPG's, Achaea (http://www.achaea.com) got #1 on one of those top 50 list things.

Final Fantasy XI. The PS2 version is coming out in March, but if you have a gaming PC, you can get the PC version. Really, it's the only MMORPG that doesn't suck.

Y'know, I started playing Achaea a while back, and just couldn't figure out how to get out of the town. Then again, the number of text-based RPG's I've played can be counted on one hand.

You might wanna try Dragon Court, although it takes a while to start because its based on turns (called quests) that are gained per day.

Achaea? That's one of those MUDs, right? I once played Castle Arcanum (http://www.arcanum.mudservices.com) on a daily basis at my school. I found that pretty fun. Of course, it's always hard for me, 'cuz I get lost easily in MUDs.

It's simply the best RPG, EVAH! All the satisfaction of building up from a 90-pound level 1 teenager to an incredibly puissant and magically imbued warrior.

Hey KodiaX, is Progress Quest supposed to have any visable graphics? I tried making a new character, but a window with a bunch of stats and shit popped up and items kept appearing and then disappearing and yeah you ghet the idea. Is that supposed to happen?

counter strike is cool but its very very cheap if your playing against skilled players

Dur... Why buy just Counterstrike? Get the Half-Life Platinum Pack. You get HL, OppFor, Blueshift, CS, TFC. Lots of stuff for around $30. That's pretty darn cheap, and if you get sick of being kicked around online the single-player mode is quite fun as well (well OppFor and HL anyway, Blueshift was so-so). The only problem is you will probably need to download a huge patch for HL and CS...

But for cheap and easy and free. I suggest Doom. I agree it's tons of fun and if your computer can't run it then... well you've got more problems than I can help with. You may have to set Windows to emulate Win 95 for that however.

Basically both of these are free to run online and the people tend to be pretty nice. You'll get your jerks but at least they have a huge audience.
