EP3: Online structure question

How does the quest system function online? Can you jump onto Pioneer 2 / Red Base and take a quest like you do offline, or do you always go directly into battle from the lobby?

Is there any facility for the story to be continued online?

Does offline data effect online gameplay at all?

There is no storyline stuff in online mode.
Online is same as free battle mode in offline with the addition of tournaments and well other people from around the world playing
